cant say im a BIG fan of the James Bond games since i have never played the Nintendos Goldeneye :( Every review for the game had an excellent writeup, but seemed to get lower when MGM Interactive distributors brought out the next 007 game. After Goldeneye came Tomorrow Never Dies, The World is Not Enough and 007 Racer all for the psx.

Anyway, for the first 007 game for the Psx2 surprised gamers and reviewers worldwide as it comes even close to beat Goldeneye. It has intense first-person action with 12 beautiful and imaginitive levels with a great storyline of illegal cloning to build a army to take over the world. not only you can travel by foot but 3 of the levels involves going behind the wheel of exotic supercars - BMW 28, BMW 750iL and Aston Martin DB5. Also another level (my favourite) has you gunning men on a runaway mine cart in a pulse-pounding thrill ride through tunnels, shooting mines, men and sensory movement guns ahead of you, side of you and behind of you!

i have to admit that i completed this in a few days, you could probably complete it earlier but still i have no regrets for buying it. Its addictive fluid gameplay will make you wanna keep coming back for more and more. The best part is that when you completed it you can go back to a particular level you want. If you have a friend over then why not frag them in split-screen action where you track and kill your opponent with all the weaponary and gadgets from the proper game. Speaking about weapons and gadgets, they are all hi-tech and state-of-the-art -

weapons:

Pistols - wolfarm P2K, windsor viper, IAC defender, dartgun and golden gun

Submachine Guns - koffler & stock KS7, ingalls type 20, calypso P-750 and munitions belgique PS100

Assault Rifles - kazakovich KA-57, windsor FSU-4, meyer-westlicher UGW and kaffler & stock 017

gadgets:

Q-decryptor, Q-claw, Q-laser, Q-specs, Q-camera, Q-remote, Q-card and Q-jet

As you could probably realise that most gadgets and weapons have already been used in previous 007 games but you would be surprise how better they are in real-time 3D (even the sound is better to listen to.) The ending might not be spectacular or awarding to completing the game but finding the twist mid-game will definitely draw a smile on your face. make sure you at least rent this. its a keeper!

5/5 (BRILLIANT)

next game I\'m reviewing: Resident Evil Code: Veronica X

PS2 game reviews go in that tiny little obsolete forum called "Main Forum."  You know, the place where none of us really bother to look anymore.  :)  OT is where it\'s at.

That was an exaggeration of course.  If you look in main forum, you\'ll find that people do post in there, so presumably someone\'s reading it.  OT gets a much higher velocity of posts though, and it would appear that the Current Events forum is exceeding OT in growth rate, though it has a long way to go.

well its no goldeneye but it was\'nt a turd either, it had its enjoyable moments, the best thing i liked about this game was the controls, it\'s imo the best console fps control scheme.

Don\'t let these guys get to you.  I always appreciate the effort put forward by someone to review a game honestly, whether I agree with them or not.  I\'ll look forward to reading more of your reviews in the future. :)

Never played it on PS2.  Played it on Xbox.  Was pretty good but multiplayer left a lot to be desired.
