Tiffany\'s "I think we\'re alone now"
Dude, that rocked.. I remember having sex to that song many a time in the passenger side of my car.
Oh God, you people probably don\'t even know who Tiffany is.
Nevermind.

I remember Tiffany, she was Debbie Gibson\'s rival in 1988 if I remember. She had long ginger hair and a large mole on her face.

Here is my five of the top of my head:

Tainted Love - Marilyn Manson (Soft Cell)
Knocking on Heaven\'s Door - Guns n Roses (Bob Dylan,Eric Clapton, Avril Lavigne lol!)
Live and Let Die - Guns n Roses (Paul Mcartney)
I am the Walrus - Oasis (The Beatles)
Against all odds - Mariah Carey (Phil Collins) Racer will like :D

Good choice on \'Knockin on Heaven\'s Door\', Kurt

I heard a new cover of \'Boys of Summer\' by some group yesterday that I can\'t remember the name of.
This is America and I can still pay for sex with pennies

No Quarter - Led Zepellin - Tool

I don\'t particularly care for covers on a whole, though.

Alicia Keys has much more vocal and musical talent then Marilyn Manson will ever have.

I prefer to listen to songs that actually have depth and meaning.  Someing that, say.. Mariah Carey will never have.  :)

my all time favourite cover would have to be Paint it Black covered by Taetre

The best cover tunes are the ones that many Jam Bands play during live shows, but never release on an album

Phish does a ton of covers and since they allow the recording of there concerts all those covers are well documented

Same goes for other Jam Bands like the Grateful Dead, Moe, Galactic, Karl Densons Tiny Universe, Government Mule, etc,...

Many of these bands play some really nice long versions of kick ass tunes

but obviously its a matter of taste cause most of the tunes listed here kind of make me naseaus (sp?)

I will say this "Knocking on Heavens Door" by Guns and Roses is by far the BIGGEST butcher job EVER !!!!!  I laugh every time I hear it

Mine are mostly choices not even because they improved on the original, but just because I love the original song so much.  A few that come to mind for me:

Nirvana: The Man Who Sold The World.  I like the original a lot too, but I think the remake is better.  My favorite song by Nirvana.

Eddie Vedder (of Pearl Jam): You\'ve Got To Hide Your Love Away.  I love the original of this song so much.  This is just a slightly different sounding version of it.  Basically, as long as he didn\'t butcher it, which he certainly didn\'t, this was gonna make my list.

Metallica: Turn the Page.  Love the song the way they did it.

Rage Against the Machine: Renegades of Funk.  My favorite on a whole album of covers.

Can\'t think of a fifth at this moment.  Maybe I\'ll add one.
