Only problem I have with the system is there is a swith at the bottom of the acclerator that drops the gear no matter what mode you are in.  It\'s drive by wire so everything is computer controlled.

You could be cruising at 70 and if you hit the gas, instead of dropping into 4th ot will drop into 3rd.  At 70, 3rd gear is around 5500 so it\'s near the top end anyway.  I really like it better when you drop into 4th, but that darn switch gets me every time.

Even if you manually drop down into 4th with the shifter, if you accidently trigger the switch it will throw you into 3rd.

Making the jump from 70-100 is pretty fun in that car though.  Pretty damn quick passing speeds.

We were playing on the dyno the other day and my boss has a V8 explorer.

It took him over 10 seconds to go from 70-90.  It was pretty funny.  Liek a dog.  I actually think it was around 14 seconds.

Mine only took a few seconds.  Can\'t remember the actual run because we did so many.

I\'m going to be itching for an M5 before long though.  Always need more power.

I hear that.  I tried doing some skidding and stuff in my wee little (unmodified) honda... believe me, it just doesn\'t have the power of a nice 330.  Oh well, I guess I need a better job (or an acura engine :D )

As for racing an explorer... we all know that weight is one of the most important keys to high acceleration and not bottoming out in the upper gears.... so it\'s no surprise he accelerates like a pig.  My civic might not have the top speed, or the handling... but it\'s peppy.

Are the stations mostly mainstream singles? As in - say you go to a rock channel and do they play the MTV singles or do they play different songs from different albums ?

Dude, I was listening to Psychadelic Furs, depeche mode, erasure yesterday on one of the channels.  All kinds of crap you\'d never hear on mainstream channels.

There are some pretty cool Independent stations, there are some metal stations, lots of freaking stations.
