I don\'t see where Luckee said Bush was directly responsible for the jobless rate.

I did see him say that Libera was another distraction due to Bush\'s constant failures, just as the search for those WMD was Bush\'s way of distracting people from his failure to find Bin Laden.

Just for the record, our local McDonalds is not hiring.  Things are different in different areas.

And I can think of a few ways that the president and other elected officials of his own party impact the economy.  I mean, weren\'t the tax cuts given to us by the republican controlled government supposed to help?  I know this isn\'t the best example for this exact situation, since these things take time.  Just making a point in saying that there is a connection between the president and the economy.

You do realize that a tax cut takes quite a long time to filter into the system.  I mean it\'s not like I already went and spent my 400 dollar check I am getting.

Working at McDonalds is not a shameful thing. I do not work there nor ever have. Atleast they are working though, and not leaching off the system like so many others.

exactly my point

there is ALWAYS a job to be found

example:

a good friend of mine\'s father was a cobol programmer for a large financial corporation here in pittburgh.  after the 2000 switchover, he was laid off, because they went all windows software and had no need for a cobol mainframe department.  what did this guy do?  he\'s spent the last 3 years on unemployment looking for a cobolprogramming job.  everytime i see him, i wanna say "look here you prick, instead of making your wife go out and work cause yer lazy ass can\'t is inexcusable.  go get a fukn job"

No. I\'ve never applied to Mcdonalds - but I have never seen that "Now Hiring" sign either at our local Mcdonalds.

Things are a lot different depending on the area. Were I live, jobs are rather scarce at this point. Infact, a couple places just shut the doors down.

There might be. There\'s jobs for lawyers, judges, doctors....but not everybody is able to get those jobs. If you\'re talking about jobs at mcdonalds, burger king, albertsons, wal-mart, target, mervyns, taco bell, amc, Ross, Gamestop, Bookstop, chik-fil-a, kroger, fiesta, minyards, walgreens.....and so on then NO at least not here in mesquite.
