Any1 any good with sprite art?
« on: July 26, 2003, 12:04:33 AM »
No, I\'m not making little anime, desktop, sex babes. (although it is a possible future project) I\'m making a happy little game with tanks, helicopters, mechs, robots, soldiers, non naked babes, high tech weapons, aliens and a few other weird stuff. Any1 interested should send their application to avatarr@sheepsheet.com. Include any samples or links to any of your work. (please keep any attachments below 100K)

THIS is the engine I\'ll be using.

Hey Awy, I\'ve got a question about that GameMaker proggie. Is it possible to do anything useful with it, without the games being so slow that they become unplayable?
RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRAPETIME!

Nope. The engine was programmed with Delphi and the writer will not release the source code. I\'ve heard that you need at least an 800MHZ system to keep it from turning into a slide show. I have an Athalon XP 1800+ myself. Oh whell, its 2003 anyway, there shouldn\'t be many ppl that\'ll have a system that would struggle..... :p

Well, I tried the sampled 1942 (?) and it ran pretty slow. And I have a P4 2.4 GHz... so I never really used the program for anything since it would appear useless.

Oh whell, not much I can do to help you. :( I know you\'ve got the latest drivers for everything on your system. It must be a problem with the program and the only one who can fix it is the writer. Sowwy sammy. :(

Now back to our regular programming..... sprite artists!

Oh Sammy, I noticed a bit of a slowdown whenver Kazaa was on in the background. I have absolutley no idea why that is, but maybe incoming network traffic is being read by the GM engine, eventhough the game itself isn\'t coded to do anything with it. Hope that helps a tad.
