I beat it last night and enjoyed every second of it. I\'ll post here what I put in my blog.
I just completed Freedom Fighters and it was definitely worth the trip. About mid way through and at the end, they definitely attempted to create a much more epic story and feel to the game, but it was bogged down because the developers never bothered to elaborate on the characters and really emphasize just what each person meant to one another, IE, their interpersonal relationships. Sure, I can read between the lines at the end, but that\'s the end, as in after the portion where those elements are most critical, but I just might be being over critical of the situation. It is just a computer game after all.
Per usual in regards to PC games, getting there was all the fun and this game had tons of it. I\'ll never forget the moment I first found a rocket launcher and proceeded to use it on a helicopter bringing it down to its new fiery grave on the streets of New York. I\'ll never forget the moment when I first discovered that there were tanks in the game and how I felt when it cranked its turret around and took aim right at my face. I\'ll never forget the first time I exploded a Molotov cocktail outside of an APC and watched the soldiers pour out of it into a scorched grave.
It\'s the little things that make life worth living.
All in all, I give Freedom Fighters a cool 4/5 happy faces. It\'s currently out now for the PS2, Xbox, GCN, and the PC. If you have the rig, I highly recommend the PC version because it is definitely excellent and cheap!
