Racer i know. Im just saying that in that particular screen it was in the middle of a race and the rims had a surprizingly non 2d look thats all. And the shots from the video dont even do that video justice , (but nice anyway). I was really worried about how they would pull off the crowds and the pit crew but they did an amazing job.

Nice screens racer, it\'s good to see proper 3D pit crews and fans at the side of the track. They look amazing, something that is lacking in all other racing/rallying games.

Are they using nerbs of something for the human spectators??They seem too detailed and they are too many for a game that has way too much detail already to run at constant 60 fps :eek:

Nah, you can see that the inside of the wheel is kinda 3D but the actual rim is just a 2D map stuck on it.

I know I am being picking, but can\'t they get rid of one spectator and give us 3D rims? Regardless, this game is going to rock. That Italian track in the vid looks amazing, its so narrow and hilly.

The rally section of the vid with the spectators is definately realtime I would say, and probably the pit crew section too. I mean, don\'t you guys remember Ridge Racer 5\'s intro sequence with the hot Asian chick? That was being rendered in realtime, and that was over 3 years ago! Namco are good, but Polyphony are better...



Just think of her, times 10, slightly less detail... Nice.

I know for sure the scene with the rally car going past the animated crowd is real time but everyone isn\'t sure about the pitcrew but this is what a smart guy on another board said

Perhaps they took the same models they use in the real time scenes, enhanced them a bit and made an FMV.Something similar to what they did with the Tekken4 endings

Not the best quality, but even the wheels in this shot certainly lok more 3D than in GT3.

Its not a big deal, would be great if we could get wheels that look like that into the actual game. Judging by that grass section of the vid, we might just be in luck.

I wonder what happens if you run into the crowd.I hope they dont pass inside the car because that would suck.It sucked in WRC2.A lot.Especially in replays with the camera set inside the car.You would seem the pass inside the car as if they were ghosts.
I hope they run away from the car when it gets near them

I would say they will either be behind either invisible or visible barriers or will run away. The rally bit is probably not in game and was probably created just for the trailer, however, IGN have stated that it looks exactly the same in game when your playing.

Maybe but we might have to wait and see, PD still has enough time to get gt4 ready.
