It\'s not about getting the game for free, it\'s about Valve\'s past 4 years of development being open source and fully available to and any all competitors.

This sucks Valve has always been good to the gamer. They have one of the EZst map makers and look at what they did for the makers of CS.
   So what is going to hapen to the HL2. does this mean theat they are going to take it back to code or what

Although I despised the hackers for their irresponsible act, Valve also won the crown for stupidity in managing their intellectual properties.

After all, why would anyone put a source code worth multi million bucks and the soul of the company on to a machine with access to the Web!!! They should just put it onto a closed network!!

The code also contain propriatery codes and trade secrets from other companies. If they sue Valve for mismanaging their property, they\'ll be in bigger trouble than a leaked source code.

i know talk about gay

im starting to wonder if the leak is really even true - first its pushed back to holidays and then a convient leak and its back to april - wtf its a third of the code so why does it take 4 more months

that and any damage that can be done is already in affect why go back to redo the code anyway

seems to me they just arent thinking - why even have the source on a open network

Now an early pre-alpha is floating around.. apparently missing a lot of content but it contains at least 5 maps and is rather playable I hear. Meh, whatever.. I just want the full game and I want it ASAP.

Kurt, it\'s not. It\'s out there and has around 70 maps but no story elements are in it. Also CS: Condition Zero has been released by the hacker.
