Goodbye Playstation
« on: December 24, 2003, 03:35:51 AM »
Bad news dudes. Playstation, PSX, PSOne or whatever you wanna call it, has already dead. Sony has stopped the production of the most successful console in history. That means that once shops finish its stock after Christmas, no one will see again the white for sale.

Thanx to Sony and all those videogame companies that have allowed us to enjoy beautiful and funny moments with PSone.

This is the end of 32-bits era. Rest in peace. (extracted from vandal).

Todas estas cosas se perderán en el tiempo como lágrimas en la lluvia.

Dude, PS2 still plays PS1 games. I think PS1 games will be around for a while yet.

that\'s not the point!
it\'s meant symbolically (I think), cause ps1 was the last remaining 32bit-era console....

Let us think what the PS1 brought us...it brought us the 1st GTA, then Driver, the RE series, FF, and what about Metal Gear Solid? Sad to see it go but I think we\'ll get over it.

July 2002: If you had bought $1000.00 worth of Nortel stock one year ago, it would now be worth $49.00. Enron, $16.50 left. Worldcom, $5.00 left. If you had bought $1,000.00 worth of Budweiser beer one year ago, drank it all and turned in the cans for the 10 cent deposit, you would have $214.00. Based on the above, my current investment advice is to drink heavily and recycle.

Remember flipping that pos upside down? ;)  People still wonder how they managed to do it but they successfully put Nintendo and Sega in their place even though it was their first system.  Can\'t imagine anyone else except Sony doing something like that.  It was the system for the people, not for Sony, not for the parents.  Good job for changing the industry.  :thumb:

Ah, the beautiful greyness. So versatile (sp?). The possibilities of the ps were limitless. I enjoyed having so many ports for everything i didnt need. VCD and TV player, and all that good stuff.

Even the loading sounds are music to my ears. Screw that PSone bullshit. Its funny how the 64 bit era ended so much faster than the 32 bit era. Saturn was another great console.

Staying on topic, ill miss the fact that the 32 bit era was here not so long ago but ill bust out the old PS and play some Ultimate Battle 22 one day.

It could be due to the fact there was only really two 64 bit consoles. Neo-Geo, which was highly priced and never hit the mainstream market and the N64 which was cartridge based , thus hurting it.. Yeah, that could be why the so-called 64-bit era (which there was never really one) died faster.

Please, don\'t bring up the Jaguar..As Atari use to say, "do the math".
