Looks like they were repairing a tractor? Did I just witness a tripple murder?

What I saw there was three totally unarmen men offering no resistance and a couple of gun-ho f*cking yank idiots realising theyre off the leash in a war zone and they can do whatever the f*ck they want.

Makes me angry when they probably would have given up if they\'d seen the thing that was totally gibbing them, past evidence shows that you only have to show them the threat of force and 90% bug out instantly.

They weren\'t unarmed. I saw a longer video footage of this. They were leaving weapons on the side of the road for someone else to pick up later and use against Coalition forces.

Now how do you know what they were doing in any shape or form?  What you said about showing force is true but you don\'t know what they were doing with the trucks or anything, you\'re just guessing.

Precisley. The men were being watched for a few minutes. They were just standing by the truck talking. The Americans said to wait and see if they were hostile. After a while, you see them take out what looked to be an AK-47 and leave it by the roadside. For who? Who knows. But this is the same tactic the Viet Cong used in the Vietnam War. They\'d stash weapons for guerrilla insurgents and when Americans were near by, they\'d run to the stash and start shooting.

Couldn\'t the Apache  monitored them form a safe distance & just radio for ground back-up so they they could arrest the men and find out what they were up to ?

i mean aren\'t we suposed to be winning them over "hearts & minds " ?

or are our forces now taking over the role of Judge , jury and executioner.

The thing is, that may have been during the war campaign and not after the Fall of Baghdad.

Winning Iraqi citizens over but armed militants maybe not....

Really, we don\'t know what was going on so how could we make guesses on what they should have done.

but still shooting at a badly injured "combatant" when your in a Heavily armed attack Helicopter, tends to give us all a bad taste in the mouth.

Anyhoo looks like this thred has started some political debate over the war…

So it gets Promoted to the Current Events and Political Debate forum

Sorry for not posting any background text, I\'ll try and find some.  What I remember is that thse guys were distributing RPGs from that truck..

Remember this is a war, not a raid.  Imagine if the Iraqis had the equipment of the US or Britain.  You think they would take the same precautions?

Nice for the clear up, at least we know they were not doing something other than out right terrorism.

Still it would be nice to find out whos at the bottom of this, something tells me that Saddam and his sit in a holecovered in his own muck didn\'t cause this level of Insurgence.
