How to set up an IRC channel?

I\'d like to set up an IRC chat channel on efnet. anyone know how its done?

hmm I\'ve been hanging on efnet for 5 years now and I\'m still not quite sure how people do it.  All you need to do is be the first one in the channel and you are an op (operator).

@ = op (admin of channel)
+ = voice (these people can talk when channel is +m = moderated)

The thing is you need to setup "bots" to stay in the channel when you\'re not there to hold op status for you and to prevent nerd takeovers.  The more the better, it\'s simple as knowing someone who already has a bot on EFNet and can set it all up for you.

I\'m sure there are tutorials on Google if you wanna search.

The most basic way is to join a room that hasn\'t been created yet. Place a bot if you want to hold it.
