According to CBS / MTV it was not planned . CBS has said that MTV will never help with another half-time show and MTV says that had no idea about the ordeal.

With that said - I think it was planned. If nothing else bewteen Janet and Justin it was planned. Dresses just don\'t rip off at the breast section, now do they? And it\'s awful funny Janet had a nipple shield on, so that you could not see much of her nipple. Now who wears a nipple shield under-neath their clothing?

Seriously, That was SO intentional. If you look at the video again(and I have; again and again in slow motion) it looks real fake.

In a high resolution shot, zoomed in, you can see that there is a barbell goin\' thru the pierced nipple and also that the nipple is clearly covered by a nipple shield. People do not wear nipple shields just for the hell of it. It\'s a good way to cover up the actual nipple for showing and keeping them from getting sued, most likely.
