Official mlnimum req. & benchmarks of doom3

John Carmack \'officially\' confirmed the minimum specification/requirements for running DOOM 3. They are:

~~~~~~~~~~REQUIREMENTS (bare minimum)~~~~~~~~~~

1000Mhz (1.0GHz) Athlon/Pentium CPU.
256MB of RAM
GeForce 1 / Radeon 7xxx level of graphics card.

doesn\'t bother to tell u if they\'re 256meg FX cards or 128.

Even so, the high end cards are to expensive. :/

If these benchmarks are true, nVidia has edged ATi in Doom III. (just as ATi edged nVidia in HL2)

Anyways, I\'m definitely going for a R420 or NV40. Forget these cards!

Well I have an fx5900 flashed to a 5950, so I\'m not worried about being able run Doom III.  Though it is nice to see that it\'ll run it pretty well.

?? Where are the 9800XT cards.  Those constantly bench higher than the 5950 GF\'s.

I remember when the GF3 was considered the card to have for D3, back in May of 2001.
