I seem to remember a while back that some people were complaining how little action there was in the main forum. That is true to some extent as many members only come here for the OT forum. I don\'t know if anyone has noticed but I try to post information in the main forum as often as I can in the way of game information, screenshots, news etc. Admittedly some of the games I post about are not the most exiting, but at least it gives people something new to read and comment about. I consider posting things in the main forum quite important as that is what essentially attracts new members here in the first place. Attracting new members is always important imo for a site such as this so I consider myself a valid contributor to the site in general.
A little something else I would like to add is that this site has been great for me from a personal point of view. There has been times when I have felt quite low and depressed and quite frankly coming to this site does cheer me up and help me to forget other things in life. As this site helps me is such ways it would be an honour for me to help give back to the site and being a moderator would give me the satisfaction in knowing that I am helping to keep the site in order.
In reply to clips, I would probably have closed that thread as it seem that he has not been back to the site since. I am sure that if he does retun someone will most likely make a new thread on the matter anyway and link to that tread in some way.
Shockwaves I can see your point in regards to my not posting in the debates and religious topics but I still do read the threads, and more often than not they do tend to on occasion contain spam posts and posts that start flamming other members. Even though I don\'t contribute to these threads, I can\'t see how it will affect my ability to moderate them.
As to closing other threads I would only do so if it was a noobie blatanly posting links advertising, sites for wares or porn links or sites that had been ruined by people spamming. many posts that ruin what would had been otherwise good threads would result in inividual posts getting deleted. I consider LIC a good moderator in this respect.
There has been lost of instances there I have here looking at new members on the site an actively tracking their movements. The was an instance about a month ago where a noobie was spamming every forum with a link that contained a virus. I actully clicked the link and make a point of posting wherever he did to warn people not to click the link as it contained a virus and tell the guy to quit being a moron. The guy was banned eventually. Had I been a mod I would have acted quicky to remove his link and lock the threads to stop other people getting infected.
As far as the other candidates go I cannot say anything negative about either of you in any way at all. I respect you both too much for that and would both make excellect moderators for this site. This group was always going to be a very tough group for me and to even get this far by people nominating me in the first place in very flattering.
I would ask other members to make their choice on who would be the best choice for the good of the site, afterall the site is the most imortant thing. We all want the same thing at the end of the day, a fun place to come to that will attract new people and make existing member want to stay.
