this article is a bit dated, but still funny...

Yeah, there should be a salary cap and yes.. MLB is on a downswing because of it.

It\'s still attracting plenty of people though, in big-market venues like Fenway and Safeco anyway.. *cough* Seeing as how the Angels won the World Series in 2002 and the Marlins in 2003, I don\'t think salary is much of an issue. BTW, I like the length of the baseball season. It gives me something to watch on a daily basis during the summertime!

The best player on the Reds would be a bat boy for the Yankees.  :(

Well not true but damn close.

Are they putting him at third base?  If so that just shows how big of a joke the yankees are.  An all star in Boone just wasn\'t good enough for them.

Boone tore up his leg in an offseason basketball game and was out for the upcoming season, so the Yanks had a huge hole to fill.

And boy did they fill it.

Jeter has been the leader of this team for quite a while now, SS is his position.  A-Rod is just happy to be on a winning team, he dosen\'t care about switiching positions.  The bad blood and infighting it could cause isn\'t worth it.

And A-rod is a Gold glove SS, but Jeter is a guy you don\'t want to alienate.

Oh, and I hope this blows up in the Yankees\' face. I\'d love to see how the fans and Jeter react and the whole SS situation...
July 2002: If you had bought $1000.00 worth of Nortel stock one year ago, it would now be worth $49.00. Enron, $16.50 left. Worldcom, $5.00 left. If you had bought $1,000.00 worth of Budweiser beer one year ago, drank it all and turned in the cans for the 10 cent deposit, you would have $214.00. Based on the above, my current investment advice is to drink heavily and recycle.

I\'ve always hated baseball. I fall asleep whenever I watch it and I hate the Yankees. They keep bringing in all star players and its hard for other teams to beat them and win the World Series. Like stated earlier, the Marlins win was luck.

During the World Series, I was getting a lot of grief from friends who are Yankees fans. They said that the Yankees would win and I\'m dumb for saying the Marlins would win. Well they won and my friends had nothing to say. I never did watch the game.

So lets see. The Yankees trade for another superstar, and give them even less chemistry. Ho-hum.

Yankees pitching staff has a bunch of questions. Not about talent, but about health and age. Basically, if their pitching fails, they\'re screwed. As the Yankees themselves witnessed last Autumn, Good Pitching beats Good hitting...doesn\'t help when Josh Beckett is pitching out of his mind, either.

Lets all be happy that the Yankees didn\'t land Vlad Guererro. Had that happened, along with A-Rod...oh dear god. Bad happenings would be afoot. They don\'t have everybody, but they have a lot. Honestly, I think they\'re goona choke on the high expectations. To who?

Well, I\'m a tad biased :-D (CUBS CUBS CUBS).

See Yuz.
What do Kerry Wood, Mark Prior, Matt Clement, and Carlos Zambrano have in common?

They\'re the pieces to the next great pitching rotation of our time, what else?

GO CUBS!

I watch baseball only right before the World Series...other than that it doesn\'t matter to me.
Don\'t try to confuse me with what you call  facts, my mind is already made up.
