No, I\'ll probably race it in the game (not in real life as they are slow as hell), but I\'ll only race it in the early stages of the game, like in gt3 when you had to use a miata or another cheap car.

oh fair enough.  I know how you feel now. My car is pretty slow but I wouldn\'t mind racing it in the game ;)  I\'d love to go real fast and bash it into a Porsche and get 1st place

I dunno if i\'m right or not, but it seems to me to be very much the same as GT3.

The Hong Kong track is head and shoulders above anything in GT3.

I hate screen shots because they aren\'t 480i..  The game never loooks as good as screen shots do.

Not always true. Some screens are sh** and then some are just of replay angles so you expect more because the level of detail you are seeing is from a different perspective than the one you actually play in. Well that and the resolution difference. The game still looks great.

The resolution is better, cleaner and sharper in some screens than the actual game. For example like the pics I posted

posted this at beyond3d - enjoy people :D

ah yeah, forgot to mention this: I played Gran Turismo 4!  :D

It was on showing at the Automobil Exebition in Geneva, Switzerland - which I attended last Tuesday. I was able to play GT4 at BMWs stand, where they had GT4 setups to demonstrate the "BMW Concept M5 Simulation".

I even recoreded some gameplay footage while taking a few runs doing the italian course:

GT4 Movie, 7.38 MB, AVI, aprox. 30 seconds

Off hand, I can say that the title looks very impressive, despite the noticable shimmering - though these are usually quite evident on the Sony displays more so, then what I\'ll be expecting to see when running it on my own displays at home. The gameplay has improved noticably - it is far more realistic and at that, harder. The new steeringwheel with 900° is awesome, though makes it very hard and challenging at the same time. Definately will take time getting used to.

Enjoy the video. :)

The speed of it is very impressive, but maybe that\'s down to the clostraphobic nature of the track?

I suppose so, though it was an incredible feeling. And I am pretty sure the speed was displayed in km/h, not mph!

It\'s a shame you can\'t see how incredibly smooth the game was. Damn camera would only do 15fps :-/

I\'d say quite a bit when looking at the textures etc. They really do stand out and are very high res. A back step would definately be the flickering - the whole screen just looked quite pixelated actually. Though as I mentioned, most games suffer from that quite badly on the Sony displays, so I am pretty confident that the actual picture quality should look better depending on the cables and/or display used. Hard to tell if the impression from the picture quality resembles what GT3 did or if it was worse - I am probably betting that the game will look as sharp as GT3 on proper displays - just with much better textures and more detail (the reflections rock)!
