If I can\'t afford it, I don\'t buy it until I can.

i wonder if its an american thing with CC\'s..seeing as the three foreigners (to us) never had credit cards.

I kind of wish i didnt get one, but my parents said it would be a good idea. I dont even really use it..feel dumb pulling it out for something thats like 30 bucks max when i can easily get cash..and if i didnt have cash then i wouldnt be buying it. I could see me buying a ps3 with it, just so i wouldnt have to worry about all the cash, but thatd happen every 5 er 6 years.

As for American\'s and credit cards, yeah, I think it is an American thing. A lot of people use one credit card to pay off another credit car. One never ending cycle.

i remember bein in the mall one time in line behind this chic, she pulled about six different cards before one  even went through,..everytime she swiped one, it was denied....she was a nice lookin\' professional looking woman....probably high maintanence(spel), but she wasn\'t embarrased at all by how many cards of hers were rejected...

Dunno how it is elsewhere, but you can\'t get credit until you have credit here. I remember I thought I was doing myself a favor not having CC\'s, but then I tried to buy a vehicle...no dice, even tho I had worked at the same place for 8 years, no debt, etc... I ended up having to get a secured credit card, and use it for a year.

I only have about 2K now, mostly on a musician\'s friend account that has no interest.

That is also true. My fiance has never had a credit card and every time she goes to get something on credit, they tell her to get one and build her credit up. I also ran into the same problem when I had to buy my first car.

Ditto. I only use it for gas because Discover supposedly gives me money when I need it (like a certain percentage like .01% goes back to me. Adds up with time. I can buy myself a dvd or something, lol). Otherwise I use my debit card for the most part becasue I like to use cash for a) food at diners and b) food in general or something small. I don\'t like carrying a lot of cash on me incase I lose it. Atleast if I lose the cards, I call and cancel them.
