^^thanks for the info bro...yea i\'ve just taken a liking to the new x-men since silvestri did a short run on it...and i have taken into account all the titles you\'ve recommended & look forward to a speedy purchase. i use to read daredevil a few years ago and when i did i think it was from the marvel knights issue of it..i forgot the name of the cat that was drawing it but it was extremley written well..i\'m gonna have to dig into my chest to find that one..there\'s another book i picked up & it\'s from an independent co..it\'s penciled artwork & the story is interesting as well i\'ll post it once i remember the name of it..again thanks..i appreciate the info.

Not a problem.  Just trying to help steer you in the right direction and away from the crap that\'s out there. :)

And Swif, I agree.  Nothing beats all those EGM issues with the N64 hype and those early SGI pics of Final Fantasy and the Link vs knight pictures for Zelda 64.

with all the super hero talk, let me share my recent purchases...

just bought the jim lee superman comics 204- 206 i have always loved his artwork since the wildcats days...i haven\'t read any of these yet...

purchased wolverine the end pt 2 of the storyline..artwork is decent and the story line is interesting..

of course i \'ve been keepin up with this new secret wars joint by marvel ..the painted artwork is done extremely well & it\'s a no brainer that this series will be worth a lot of cash some day...

and finally i\'m keepin up with the superman/batman comic by michael turner..if only for the artwork,..cause to me the storyline so far has been dull...

i\'ve also been keepin up with the new silent hill book...it\'s actually pretty good..i was real skeptical when i bought it & the painted artwork to me isn\'t that great..but they have kept the themes tru like in the game with a few new twists to it...a real shocker & good read...

I cant remember the last time i bought a comic.... wait. Yeah i can. But i cant remember the last real time i did. I bought some Johnny the Homicidal Maniac comics around christmas but before that i cant remember. If you consider mangas comics then i bought a book or two about a year or so ago.

Comics seem so dead now. I guess thats become so common to say now, but they really used to be big. There were a lot of good ones. The newest ones that i got into i guess were the Gen 13 ones.

*shrugs*.

I never got obssesed over them though. None of that, "never take it out of the plastic" bull.

Comics only seem dead because people aren\'t buying them en masse, but I promise that if people actually listened to my reccomendations -- an believe me, I know comics far better then movies when it comes to what\'s hot and what\'s not -- they\'d be happier for it.  There\'s so much good shit out there that I could throw at you, but you\'d be none the wiser if you simply ignored it all.  If you think Gen 13 was good, then my friend, you have another thing coming as Gen 13 by comparison to what\'s out today is total crap.

I don\'t buy comics now\'a\'days, because I can\'t find a place to put them, but I remember back in the day paying out the ass for some true collectors items.

oh forgot to add i also picked up the new firestorm...he\'s black now..;)..and there was some controversy behind it...but the book was ok..i\'m not sure if firestorm is being handled like how they do green lantern..y\'know different people have been green lantern so maybe this is what they are doin with him..

it\'s funny hearing white folks complain about it..it honestly makes no difference to me as to some degree i feel some heroes have to be white..ala captain america..;)

That would be pretty damn funny to see a black Captain America *thinks and shakes head*.

RYU: Gen13 Crap to what is out TODAY? Maybe ive underestimated this "new" comic age. Then again, some people thought Gen13 was crap to begin with.

small update...recently picked up the latest storyline with the avengers starting at 500...pretty decent read..finch is doin the artwork and bendis the writing...they really are shakin up the avengers world tho...i have issues 500- 503..and i won\'t spoil anything, but one one avengers gets knocked off in this series...some where upset about the decision..but i feel it was a decent shake up...

i mean we all know that certain characters are not going to die from the jump...but these new writers that are coming onto the scene, are totally different from writers of years past, and to me it\'s a good change of pace,..no character is basically safe from being killed..dc is doin something simliar with the whole indentity crisis storyline as well...

speaking of dc i just recently bought the superman book by jim lee and i gotta say..it\'s a pretty boring story, i mean this thing has dragged on, for about 5 - 6 issues now..the only saving grace is lee\'s artwork..and even this artwork is mediorce...i don\'t know it just seems he\'s going through the motions when he\'s doin it...

meh i absoultely loved lee\'s artwork when he did his wildcats book...that was truly some of his best work...

Wasn\'t there a black Captain America book? I remember seeing something like that and I wanted to get it because it seemed like a good story. I remember it was about the black guy who they tested the super serum on before giving it to Capt. America.

I recently read the Preacher series(beginning to end) and I have to say that it was REALLY good. I was never that big into comics but that one managed to hold my attention long enough to get into it.

I kind of wished there was a follow up to show what happened after the story was over.

Identity Crisis is an awesome story line so far.  I think the first issue is on its third printing now and the second issue its second.  Amazing.  I also recommend Green Lantern Rebirth, which is another great story so far about the return of Hal Jordan as the Green Lantern who has been gone since the whole Crisis on Infinite Earths saga when he became Paralax.

Superman is a horrible story.  It\'s written by Brian Azzerello who is only good on his series called 100 Bullets.  Every other superhero book he\'s done including Superman and Batman has been horrible and dissapointing.  He\'s wasted talent on them.

Yes, I think it was called Truth: Red, White, and Black and you can buy the complete 7-issue trade now.  If you like Garth Ennis (Preacher), you might want to give Punisher Born a shot.  It\'s the origins of Frank Castle in Vietnam well before his family was killed, which is where a lot of fans thought Punisher was really born.

yea i think i\'m gonna have to go back and pick up those issues of indentity crisis,..i\'ve been hearing nothing but good reviews about that title..and i\'m also shocked by what you say of azzerello,..i have his second printing of 100 bullets where this puerto rican chick is in the center of the storyline,..it was a great read...it seems he went from one extreme to the next when he went to the super-hero writing...heh and i never knew that little bit about the black captain america...
