Pc builders beware - Colorcases.com!
« on: March 27, 2004, 10:00:46 PM »
As everyone knows, I am building my own PC and I bought a case from Colorcases.com - a URL posted by THX, in a previous thread. I paid for three day shipping, which was an extra $30 dollars, bringing my total up to $80 dollars. After waiting a week, I asked for my UPS tracking number - all I received was an e-mail saying they would get it to me the next day. I waited and waited. Kept e-mailing asking what was going on with my order, even called and could never get an answer other than it "shipped". Everytime I would ask, I\'d get "we\'ll email you it tommorw" - and nothing. Here is some of the e-mails.

Original response to me asking for a tracking number.

I called and they said they would get back to me - they never did. It kept up...

Here is an e-mail I sent.

I have yet to receive my products that I ordered from your company.  I have asked for a UPS tracking number, which I did not receive.  Now, it has been over 8 days and I have not seen the products I purchased from your company.  So, now I want you to track this product and I want the tracking number.  Since, I do not feel this is asking too much.  Considering I paid for 3 day shipping.  And I haven\'t heard anything from you or UPS yet.  I will be expecting to hear from you tomorrow...

What did I get back?

Quote
I have sent to shipping waiting for a response for tracking number

It kept up and I actually got this exact response two more times...Finally, I said I wanted my money back and they sent me an e-mail just saying "credit has been issued", I explained I did not want credit, I wanted my MONEY back, not credit for another product at their store...what did I get? Another email with the exact phrase "credit has been issued" . After a few emails I got a message saying my money has been refunded as of March 25th.  It will take a few days for the bank to process it, but I am extremely doubtful.

Just a tip for you guy\'s. Never buy from this dealer...colorcases.com .

Its a start, and because you\'ve bought a product from them.. They will take action. (if u don\'t get your money back)

This is why i never buy online. I prefer to have the goods in my hands when i pay for them. But that\'s just me. :)   Companies like these guys ruin it for everyone..

Maybe they mean they issued a credit on your credit card.  You DID pay with a credit card, didn\'t you?  If so, all you have to do is call the card company and see what charges / credits have hit your account.

I did pay with a credit card and it will take a few days for it to process. If by Wensday, I don\'t see that the money has been issued back, I will be contacting the BBB.

As for buying online vs real buying - well, normally it\'s A-0K, but like you said, its place like colorcases.com that ruin it for everyone.

On that note - I went to a place I know is good..Newegg.com  :)

I only posted this thread for two reasons. (1) To bitch and moan...(2) To warn anyone else who buys online.

Shit dood, I\'m sorry.  I should have also recommended resellerratings.com at the time since I always use them when going with a store I never dealed with before.  It doesn\'t look too good:

http://www.resellerratings.com/seller6509.html

:(  This is why I\'ll go with Newegg, even if it\'s up to $15 more for the same part.  Let us know how it goes.

If worse comes to worse just dispute the charge on your credit card.  The ****ers can\'t do anything if they can\'t prove they sold you a case, ie- false tracking #.

-Its not your fault, THX. Truth be known, I should of done more research, but I reguarly buy online and this is the first time I have ever really had a problem. Still, I learned from it and just thought I\'d post here to let other people know not to buy from them...

LIC should have listen to me and buy computer cases from Swap meats that specially sell computer/computer parts.:bounce:
You know, those computer stuff sold on swap meats are actually from the factory which of couse are usually cheaper than retail store.  I once bought a computer case online and to find out swap meat sell much cheaper.  So, I immediately cancel my order online.  Good things that works out well.:D

I work a lot, 12 hour shifts and when I don\'t work there, I help Capcom where he works. I don\'t have time to track down swap "meats" that are typically three hours away. It just doesn\'t work for me. I don\'t have the time - instead, I am always on the go and need to place orders and be assured they will show up. It almost always works - infact, it has always worked for me up until this order. I learned a valueable lesson, every store I order from now will be checked with Reselleratiings.com and the BBB.

Halcomb? Odd last name.

That sucks dude, I have been ripped off on the internet several times, anyone can get suckered into that.

Just keep pressing and youll get you money back. Ask for the manager, then they will ship-shape up.

There should be some penalties for these guys. It is not as if most normal people go track down every business they buy from online. Probably should, but I am guilty of not checking into them myself.

I can\'t believe cc.com is still in bidness after all the negative sh*t I read about them.  They prolly get their dough from people who say to hell with it, and just give up on their $30-$40.
