Lagging PS2 prices=PS2 price cut

Sony may have won the "console wars" (whatever).But its worth noticing that the XBOX reputation is increasing.This will have an effect on the next generation.

yeah, the effect that m$ loses even more money and japan still ignores them

XBOX currently sells more than PS2.No?
Wether M$ is losing more money or not it has nothing to do with the brands reputation.
As for Japan, XBOX may sell even worse than PS1 (last time I checked) but in other regions its gaining more attention and popularity.

uhm isn\'t it only logical that ps2 sales will lag? being they sold the majority of consoles this generation everybody practically has one so it only makes sense that sales would slow down & for some that means now it\'s time to pick up the xbox...nothing to worry about..and deadpool ps2 does not need a graphics upgrade...

But it still shows that PS2 doest fully satisfy their gaming needs.XBOX seems to offer games that gamers seek a lot.It has more "popularity" power than first believed.
And also to sum things up....why not the Gamecube?

There is another aspect in the market you seem to ommit which is the reputation.The XBOX is building a lot of reputation.It hasnt and will never match the PS2 in terms of fame.But in the long term this is building for the future and as you can see from my first post thats what I mentioned.
Someone that bought a PS2 and then buys an XBOX most chances are the XBOX wont be kept in a closet.It was bought for a reason.And this affects the consumer\'s opinion.The effects will be "visible" in the future.And also I ll ask again the same question.Why not a Gamecube?Why arent there more people that want a Gamecube?

bottom line is microsoft has deep pockets it can afford to take the losses this time around..learn from it\'s mistakes and improve on them...i haven\'t gotten one yet & probably won\'t i was contemplating getting one just for ninja gaiden but i\'ve dropped off the hype for that..plus i really can\'t see buying three consoles that basically have the same games anyway..

that said that is why the dreamcast didn\'t last (well the sony hype killed some of it) bit sega just didn\'t have the financials to proceed further..and by all means dreamcast games was lookin better than some ps2 games..remember the 1st time you saw soul caliber?..you need huge financials to survive in the console business..gamecube may be last but it\'s reaping the rewards with it\'s gameboy advance..i see sony\'s machine takin a very small chunk out of it but nintendo\'s gameboy will still dominate...

xbox doesn\'t look good to me.  Doesn\'t look good to most of my friends either. Every A+ game thats on xbox has ended up on pc. Or is sold on pc too.  So i\'ll just stick with my pc...    

btw, ps2 does need a graphics update. Its a full update called ps3...  nooob.

The GC is even cheaper than XBOX and it never sold more than PS2.
I wonder how much would have the XBOX sold if it had the same price as the GC from the beginning

alot of people from the door knew the ps2 was going to have the excellent follow up titles from the psone...even if x-box released with the same price as the cube it wasn\'t certain what triple a titles the system was going to have until later on...people would have with the sony machine because that\'s where the GAMES were at..

Now why isnt the GC chosen as much?Its got its triple AAA games.This gives the impression that the XBOX offers more
