As a matter of fact it does.

Here is a quote from the games lead AI programmer:
Quote
The new system will work within the defensive shifting system. Instead of using the r-stick to adjust your group, you can select an individual player using a button. From that point, you can double-team a receiver, blitz, delay blitz, and spy the QB. I recommend watching the tutorial Defensive Training videos found in our Extras to learn how to use these features in the game. The extra treat is that the pinching/crowding functionality available to groups is also available. SO you can have one corner playing off a receiver and one in press.

this is suzy kolber from the postgame show, it\'s a little rough around the edges, but it\'s still a solid effort   and this is what you see on tv..

Any football fan will most likely give ESPN NFL2k5 a try at 19.99.  And that is all ESPN / Take Two / Visual Concepts wants from the consumer.  This will expand their fan base and possible gain many once Madden loyalists.  It all makes perfect sense and personally, I don\'t think I will be getting Madden this year anyway.  Nothing has impressed me.  I don\'t want some player to cry about playing time or not getting the ball enough then have his stats lowered because of it.  Sure I can turn that feature off, but then why wouldn\'t I just play Madden 2004?

because espn is better ;)...on another note i just played ncaa at eb & basically that\'s a clone of madden & i went home and put in espn..and i\'m sorry..yea it\'s still my opinion but espn just plays so much more like real football..madden\'s a good game, but espn took the crown last year imo...and looks forward to keepin\' it...

I\'ve tried the sega games the last 4 years and they haven\'t impressed me at all really.  I tried that stupid helmet cam feature last year, totally lame.  The running in that game looks awful too for some reason.  Maybe thats the speed burst, I don\'t know.

i\'ll agree with you on one thing..i can\'t really get into that 1st person view thing either..yea they was trying something new but i think they should can it..everything else i respectfully disagree with you... the running game? awful?..sorry running may be slighty juiced for key players (ricky williams, marshall faulk) but it looks more realistic to me than madden...

You are truly a great man.

Let me do a side by side or what have you, compairson of the two premier football titles coming out shall I?

Madden\'s Additions
1.  Storyline Central - Players now act as if they were real people with feelings.  If your star player doesn\'t get the ball as much as he thinks he should, his morale will lower which will lower his stats.  Also, he may ask to be traded to other squads, it does have its bonus part too with boosting team morale, but if you are like me and run the ball 70% of the time, your going to have some pretty pissed off WRs which will want to be traded.  I don\'t want to be told how to run my offensive, that is all.

2.  Newspaper Stories - National newspapers along with local ones will now be ran with headlines, local will concentrate on your team while national with concentrate on the league.

3. Bruno\'s Radio Show - This feature gives you some inside information inside the NFL and the on goings with Storyline Central.  Basically, it is what Madden has to offer against ESPN\'s sportscenter.

4. Defensive Playermaker - Choose zone, bump and run, blitzing and a few other things on the presnap.  Eh, most likely no one will use or have time to use this.  This is EA\'s backbone this year.

5. Hit Stick -  About 10 brand new tackles can be excuted by the right analog stick.  This hits are bigger and can cause more fumbles but also have a risk of missing more.

6. Improved player models and refined graphics.

7. Online rushing attack...  (HOMO)

8. Create a fan...  ?  lets me a fat ass with suspenders and a Lions hat.  HOW COOL!!!!.... lame

ESPN NFL 2k5

1. Maximum Tackling - Giving good use to ONE button.  Tap it for a heavy more risky but sometimes rewarding hit, or hold for a wrap tackle which is safer but doesn\'t bring your opponent down as quickly.

2. Gamecast Live - Lets you replay any play during the entire game and see what went wrong or how it happened.  Very nice for improving yourself or just taunting your friend.

3. VIP - Gamer\'s personal profile which can be transfer onto your memory card.  After it is on your card, you can play that person through the computer but the computer will play just like the persons profile you downloaded.  You can also DL profiles off the internet from celebrities or just the top ranked player.  Great way of improving yourself.

4. Online Leagues with Live Rosters - Leagues setup directly through the online server with live rosters allowing for trades and injuries. Stat tracking is all done by the server.

5. Weekly Prep - Go by each day from Monday to Friday assigning tasks for each position or team member to do such as weight room / wind sprints to something like swimming or yoga.  Also give post game speeches which determine team morale and team focus.  Very indepth feature which adds a lot to the franchise mode.

6. Impoved Graphics - Running animations have been improved as well as player porportions such as arm length.  Grass now is kicked up when players run and jerseys get progressively dirtier as games go on.  Tons and tons of new crowd cutscenes and player cutscenes

7.  Improved ESPN presentation with video highlights at halftime and post game with chris berman.  Player interviews with Suzy and weekly sportscenter with video highlights in franchise mode.

8. Defensive Matchups - Same thing as madden\'s defensive playmaker, (might I add, Madden\'s entire emphasis this year)

9 Right Analog Stick Jukes - different and varying jukes now can be done using the right analog sticks.

10.  Improved 1st person football where you can switch to 3rd on the fly.  QB goes through progressions now.

11. Momentum addition to Gameplay -  Players now cut and pivot when changing directions sharply.  The arcadeyness is now gone my friends.

12. 20 customizeable touchdown celebrations which can be button programed.

13. Revamped crib mode which serves a purpose now.

14.  Game costs 19.99!

15. Customizeable music for XBOX users only.

16. Always connected online so if anyone needs to reach you when they are online, they can.  Makes leagues easier.

It is easy to see in my mind which is the better game, but I am not here telling you which is better, I am merely stating my opinion on this.

one of ESPN\'s finest features IMO is the video highlight of the weeks games, but bear in mind that\'s only available on the XBOX
PSX2C Madden League
-----------------------------
Season 1:  Eagles: 13-3, NFC East Champs
Season 2:  MIA
Season 3:  In talks with Arizona.

you\'re wrong there bro...you\'ll still be able to see the weeks highlights on ps2, but you\'ll only get still images of the HALFTIME report..you\'ll be able to get video highlights of your game in the halftime report only if you have the harddrive...

I was aware of the still images...and that\'s still a cool feature, but somewhat quirky.  Are you sure the weekly highlights are available in video form without the hard drive?

I am positive that you need a HDD with the PS2 to see video highlights.  Lucky for me, I own one :)

Speaking of the game and such, ESPN NFL 2k5 is being released 2 weeks ahead of schedule on July 20th.  This doesn\'t really bother me since the game is already done.  They always are finished.  Sucks for people without downloadable rosters though.
