release game - patch it later
Not true, you purposely perceive it that way causes it M$. For example many Games that have been released on PS2 or say the DC had problems with camera angles or glitches here and there, or certain game elements that were never able to make it into the final release were shelved etc....
Now the Xbox gives its gamers the options or BONUS of being able to add special features to there games, fix certain issues or enhace cettian game play elements. The only way your argument MM can hold up is if M$ allows a game to be released like Ninja Gaden that plays like crap, is riddle with bugs and crippled game play, which then forces them to releases important patches to fix the problems, then and only does your argument have grounds. Yet you forget this is a console (a closed system) not a PC which has a plethora of multiple problems of incompatibility and unsupported buggy hardware etc... It\'s a given PC games require patches for this reason and many others that follow.
You say tomayto and I say TOMATO!
