I\'m just messing with the drum machine right now, using a "rock" patch set.  It seems that if you carefully adjust the dynamics of each hit, you can make it sound quite lifelike; not like our typical preconceived notion of a drum machine at all.  It\'s pretty cool.

Im just dropping in here for a bit but with reason you can definately work something out on your geetaur and make something nice with it.

Theres actually a demo song on one of the newer fruityloops called taken where the guy imported his guitar playing into it. Its pretty damn good too. Im surprised that the quality was so good (im sure it still could have been better too).

What I\'m planning to do is build up some drum and bass tracks using Reason, then perform some harmonies using the MIDI guitar, and assign them to a synth or whatever.  Then I eventually want to be able to play back the Reason sound file and record a live guitar track over the top of it using a digital audio recording program that interfaces with Reason using ReWire.

I was planning to use Adobe Audition 1.5 as the recording program, but that sort of fell through.  I might still invest in it, but I\'m thinking it might be overkill.  Do any of you have a preference on a good audio recording & mixing program that is ReWire compatible?

try Nuendo...it rewires flawlessly to Reason, and supports a ton of USB audio devices... I got a Midiman Quattro (on sale at http://www.musiciansfriend.com ) 4-in, 4-out audio @ a bunch of different sample rates.... plus you can use all VST plug-ins...

Wow.. im so confused.

Ive never used my computer to make music before and this thread is all gibberish to me.

1. Where do you get your sound bytes and all that from? and if you make them how do you get them into your comp?

2. Waht programs are completley free and easy to use?

*trys to figure this all out*

Sorry to be late responding to this thread.

Here is an excellent thread about what you may want.
