The funny thing is, we do have hybrid vehicles.  I see the Prious and the hybrid Honda\'s all the time on the road, but just as well, I see twice or four times as many H2\'s, Durango\'s, and Explorers.  California has like the highest car to household ratio in the country last time I checked.  We\'re all screwed.

Until every solider is out of there, nothing has been turned over. I think this whole "turn over" is simply a political ploy, with no real effects at the moment. We will remain over there, we will remain footing the bill. Who is truly taking the loss? Us.

Yea, who gives a care about turning that country over.  I\'ll care when we start sending men home.  Yeah it does suck for the Iraqi people, but I just don\'t care about them.  Not that I don\'t like them or anything, I just want our soliders to be safe.

2.46 and 1.70 a gallon? geeze. what a difference.

We\'ve just gotten down to about 2.19 from around 2.24 or so. It varies depending on where you get it or if youre in the city or not. This crap is rediculous but i feel no sympathy for truck driving, gas guzzling fools that "try" to justify their omplaining about gas prices.

As for handing Iraq over, i somewhat agree with LIC. Its all a political strategy to kinda win some people over into thinking that we arent as bad as we seem. That we are actually the "good guys." Untill we start pulling our men out, we really havent done much of anything.

the highest it got here was 2.01.. now it\'s down to 1.79, dropping about a cent every other day.

And good luck to Iraq.  I don\'t think the bombings and terrorism will stop any time soon though.  Pretty slick sneaking in the handover of power a few days early.

Prices drop VERY slowly.  It\'s the gas company\'s way of making lots of extra money.

They rocket up as soon as something happens, but they fall very slowly.

I went to one station today in the center of my town. $1.91. I passed by the same chain of stations about 5 miles away in the next town. 1.89. If I knew that, I would have went down the road. Not bad though.

i saw on tv i think it was cnn where they did a small segment on those hybrid whips..they stated that they really don\'t get the mileage stated from the manufacuter (spell) i know most cars don\'t..you have to factor in weather conditions ac use etc...but the makers of the hybrid boasted the mileage on it which has left some customers unhappy...

Nah. People should know what to expect. That and they probably dont know the best way to get good mileage from the way they drive etc. That or they dont know what factors into the mileage. I mean the cars still save more gas than anything else so whats to complain about?

From a friend that owns a 2004 Civic he agrees with what clips said.  His car was in the shop so he borrowed his mother\'s Civic Hybrid for a couple of days and he said the savings in gas weren\'t THAT much of a difference.  He was eager to get his car back for the extra horsepower (even tho it still is a u know what :p)

I was reading my Car and Driver one day and they were trying to turn the Prius into a race car to promote it. They had trouble with the electric motor. It only turned on and ran out of juice within like 2 seconds so it didn\'t save on fuel during a race. Hybrids are a good concept but shouldn\'t be entered in races or be big performers until they can figure out how to make a fast electric motor.

The idea of a hybrid car is to use it practically in everyday life without using as much gas as say a Hummer.  Not for racing.  Racing cars is not a practical use.  That\'s not what it\'s designed for.  Though a Prious may not get 50-60 miles per gallon typically, it\'s a whole f*cking ton better then 2 miles per gallon or 5.  I know my mom\'s Durango typically gets 10 miles to the gallon and I know the Hummer, which is gaining in popularity, gets far less.  If the prious just breaks 40 miles per gallon, it\'s helping a lot regardless if it can be suped up to race or not.
