Reality shows and the minorities

Apparently, you\'re not allowed to have an all-white show, they always throw in the token minority guy. But there are shows on upn or wb that are all black cast... not that it matters, but I guess whites aren\'t allowed to show that they primarily only hang out with other whites...or have a "white history month".

well let\'s be sensible.  This is the same reason people don\'t get in an uproar when they see (black church) in the newspaper vs (white church)...  white churches are everywhere.  Being white is the standard so to speak since a majority of North America is white.

As unpopular as it sounds I like seeing a minority in a usually all white show.  I liked seeing Micheal Chang compete with the other big names at Wimbledon, and now seeing Yao Ming in the NBA + that new Korean drat pick throws more flava into the mix.  Wait a minute, these aren\'t shows

That\'s one thing I always thought was interesting about the show friends.

They didn\'t feel like they had to have a black friend just to be politically correct.

Although Ross did try to hammer down on the one black gal in the last season, but damn, who wouldn\'t get all up in dat shizit?  She was Frizeaken Hizot.

What are you talking about? Every month except for summer and february are white history months. heh. Shiiiit. I havent learned jack shit about africa really except for egypt in any history class. So scew that white history month bull-ish. If they did have one, the only things they could really cover are the origins of white people back to vikings or something. *shrugs*

The WB and UPN have a healthy amount of black shows. Esp. UPN (aka you pick a nigga) *shakes head.*

Friends... i dont know what to make of that. I really dont. Its the same as before. Either black people dont really watch it, or they dont really care that there arent black people because the white people were funny enough.

One of the reporters at my old tv station didn\'t watch it because there were no black people in it.  (She was black)

I asked her why they HAD to have black friends.

She got rather pissy.



My best man in my wedding was black, but other than him, that was the only dude I ever really hung out with that was black. As far as coming over and going out and all.  But he dated white women and got me some good poontang so that\'s all good.

You don\'t have a point. I never said there weren\'t many minorities on TV. I said there weren\'t a lot of minorities on TV before reality shows so it doesn\'t make sense to expect a lot on reality TV. I should have said specifically "primetime network TV"(where most of the reality shows are broadcast).

I just think its amusing that people want to spin what I was saying into some sort of anti-whitey thing.
