No point.  Since when did anything on Central ever have a point?  I\'m in this for length and irritation.

Can\'t we aspire to something greater than comparing ourselves to wrestling fans?  :(

Besides a wrestling event is a live performance just like a play or an opera.  You can applaud the actors for performing their roles well can\'t you?

By contrast, when you applaud in a movie theater, the creators of the movie can\'t hear you, and your expression of approval is heard only by other annoyed theater patrons.  I don\'t know what kind of nerdfest theaters you attend Ryu, but if you try to applaud DURING a movie (not at the end) in Los Angeles, you will very likely be told to STFU by someone.

That makes no sense at all.  Whatever though.  I just don\'t think little personal attacks like that are warranted when they have nothing to do with anything being discussed in the thread.  Keep your stupid pop-shots to yourself.  No one is interested.

Glad you feel that way.  Just make sure you do the same with me as well and keep your stupidity in the trash where it belongs.

We could all hope so, but I don\'t think it\'s going to happen. :(

That\'s fine.  Your personal experience differs from my own and that\'s all well and good.  I think this particular topic has reached an impasse as most debates do.  To switch gears a bit...

Spider-Man 2 is a good movie whether people clap or not. :)

POSSIBLE SPOILERS
-  Anyone noticed about 3 very awkward scenes which made me actually bust out laughing?  Peter is becoming a nerd again and is walking down the street while they play some jingly tune.

-  MJ is running away from here wedding while the light from the sun hits her and she is smiling away like a Kodak moment.

-  Peter is being slowly lifted up after the subway/traincar fight by the people inside the train.

at all of these parts I laughing uncontroably at how cheesy they were.  I wasn\'t alone either.

Just for refrence high and mighty Ryu the all great. Your the prick that went off on me I just made a sarcastic statement as most men do when they are joking around with each other am I right people I mean dont tell me you havent made similar statment to one of your buds..

And you continued to carry your fake greatness demenor by trying again in your next post to make me feal unworthy of posting a retraction to you.

I aspire to someday have your greatness accept me...

oh and btw if I was posting in thread that you were in to keep my idiocy in check than that would have to mean that i felt your post were the opisite of idiocy hence keeping me in check.

Oh, this is great.  You took an example I almost used and ran with it.  Comparing wrestling fans to people that clap in movies is perfect.  I think you get my opinion on wrestling fans.

Also, I just got home from finally seeing Spiderman 2.  Not once did someone clap throughout the whole movie, thank god.

My sarcasm detector must have been malfunctioning at the time, but it\'s not exactly the easiest thing to pick up with dry text.  For my statements and for me missing the cues, I apologize.

I don\'t know if that\'s fair.  I think more highly of wrestling fans then of Nascar fans, but to each his own.  However, I offer the same compromise as I did Cored, but accepting it depends on the answer to the following question...

Despite that, what did you think of the film?

I\'m not positive yet, it normally takes me a little while to decide.  Thinking back though I enjoyed it.  Certain scenes were a joke but the action was well done and it exceded my expectations.

I don\'t know what compromise you offered him but sounds good to me.  I\'m glad to see that we could drop the attitude and just discuss.  In the end it\'s stupid for us to debate this because it\'s obvious certain areas of the country just handle things different and thats how we were each raised.

The compromise was that despite what we both think about clapping or in-theatre behavior, we both agree the film was very enjoyable.  Glad to see you enjoyed it as well.

I ended up editing my post a little from that.  I first put it as you dropped the attitude, but we both did.  And yes, I did. :)

I said it once and I will say it again, Rami is a hack director .. If it wasn\'t for the fact that Spider-Man 2 had better CGI and there are 40 years worth of stories to make a movie out of, it would be a diaster.. Need further proof he\'s a hack director? Look at \'Darkman\', his first attempt at a superhero film. Complete and utter crap.
