Have you ever \'snapped\'?
« Reply #15 on: July 18, 2004, 08:27:22 PM »
During cross country season, my car was stolen a second time while I was with my friends at Albertsons. My mom came to pick us up after I had called her and told her what happened. We were on our way to take the first one home, when we noticed a car very similar to mine...

My mom drove up to it, passenger side (me) facing the car. I instantly turned blood red and swung open the door, not caring that there were four boys around my car. My friend in the backseat quickly swung his arms around my chest to hold me in while my mom reached over and closed the door. The other two also jumped up to hold me in.

I\'m not quite sure is this classifies as snapping or not but it does relate to what di was talking about with his basketball / competitive spirit.

I joined a competitive league at a local place called Joe Dumars FieldHouse with some of my friends from my work.  I am used to playing in rec leagues through the city were I had 4 straight MVP of the Season awards :)    I am talented at basketball just hate our school coach and never played for him.   Those rec leagues were age specific while this Joe Dumars one has many kids from the inner city (Detroit) in it.  It is an 18 and up but most of the guys are in there earlier 30s or late 20s.  So yes, these are a very good bunch of players.  Late in a game, I missed  a three that would have made the game within reach and I yelled out f***.  Just after, a kid on the other team who we had been playing extremely tight headbutted me in the nose.  I shoved him to the floor and one of his teammates grabbed my by the neck.  Out of the corner of my eye I see the Joe D security guard coming at me like a bull.  This man is insanely large and he checked me into the wall and jacked me in the face.  He goes, get that s*** out of my gym and literally tossed me out.  I was suspended for only a game though.  check us out sometime will ya ;)

Hey Swif, perhaps the reason why you only snap whilst playing sports is due to the fact that your testosterone levels are at their maximum capacity.

Not that it matters, whether it\'s biological, or bad sportsmanship you\'re still a psychopath and I wouldn\'t let my kids play against you. :)

I don\'t get particularly angry.. my version of snapping would be an incredible sense of dredd, loneliness and isolation when my world seems to be spinning out of control. I know that everything that\'s going on can be managed by I just seem to lose it.

My friend has the most hilarious way of snapping. Only when he\'s had a stressful day and is hanging around his girlfriend for extended periods of time, and she just says little annoying things that irritate you the first time they say it but after hours of non-stop comments and actions he just drops his head and when he looks back up he just laughs uncontrollably for about 10 minutes. In a very homer-esque way.

i snapped lots of time, such as my nephew stole my Castlevania because he thought I took his game.  He is an asshole that took my games without asking me.

I snapped at other things people did that made me mad like being mean to me and taking advantages and misled people and deceived them for their own advantage.  I hate those kind of people.

I dont think that can be the only reason or a reason found in every case.Sometimes thats how things seem to look like from the outside but thats not it.

*shrug* I guess I learned, then...

Haven\'t snapped in a while, but when I was in those elementary ages, I snapped all the time, and usually at sports. If someone started bragging about beating me in a competitive game (1 on 1 basketball, flag football, something like that), I\'d usually go nuts and try to beat the crap out of them. On more than one occasion, the situation would end up with my hands around somebody\'s neck, and their parent getting pissed off and calling my dad, wondering what the hell he was teaching me.

Somehow, me and the kids I fought with always found a way to forgive and forget (damn, we were naive), but shit...some pretty good brawls with some kids back in the day, simply due to my temper.

Yeah, I\'ve calmed down a little bit...but I still do get pretty peeved over sports sometimes, but not to that extent anymore.

I\'ve only ever snapped once. Was in my brothers room, playing on his pc at the time.. My mate clayton wanted to have a go, i had only just got onto the machine. So he decided he wanted to poke my ribs with his index fingers.
He kept doing it for ages until i just got to a point it was more hurting then shitting me.  I told him to piss off and he kept doing it, after at least 30 minutes of it i snapped turn around pushed him,   punch his mid section about 5 times, stepped back and cross side kicked him through my brother’s cupboard. Let’s just say my brother wasn\'t impressed and my parents were really pissed.   Clayton was fine though, he hasn\'t never shitted me sense. :)

Thats the only time i\'ve fully snapped....

Im sure ive snapped but i dont think i really have in a physical way. I remember once when i was about 6 or 7, i was playing world track meet on the NES with the running pad and i had lost to the last guy and i threw the conroller yelling "SHIT! SHIT! SHIT!" So then my mother from all the way in the back of the house was just like "WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY!?" of course i shut up, but i got what was coming to me.

I can faintly remember some other times, like one where i was at a father son retreat and I was really tired and this guy bob always pissed me off. For years i hated this guy and he said something like sit up young man, and i was at the point of falling out into a deep sleep. You know how that is.

And so later hes like stop acting like a little shit and i snapped and basically told him and everybody else in the room to **** off and how they can all go **** themselves because the only reason i was there was for my fathers sake and because i really didnt have any other choice. I think i fell back asleep or maybe i was too angry to go to sleep. I dont quite remember.

I know theres been worse but i cant think of any right now. Maybe i did "black out" in those cases. Who knows.

I can only remember snappnig once. It was during a spades game in high school. This huge kid was on the other team that me and my partner both thought were cheating. We accused him of it, he denied it and the next thing I remember is me punching him in the face and getting thrown out of the lunchroom.
