Actually the factory engine is a 2.3 liter 4 cylinder, making only 160hp.  It\'s absurdly detuned, so I can see how there\'s a possibility of making big power out of that thing with little dollars.

I think this particular car looks ridiculous with those wheels.  What are they, 19s, or bigger?  Incredibly stupid.  Makes the car look like a chuckwagon.  The spokes make each wheel look like a jiffy-pop bag.

I like the brakes though.  :)  The rest of it is sweet.

a 2.3 at 160 only? Jeez, youre right. Rediculously Detuned is right. The most recent 4AGE engine(99? corolla trueno/levin in japan) gets up to about 160hp at 1.8L 20v and it revs pretty high (8-9000). Come on Toyota. Heh.

BTW Cored - how big are the wheels on your 2000?

Stock wheels on a MY03 S2000 are 16s.  I switched to 17s, but that is the absolute largest wheel I would consider on that car.  I\'ve seen S2000s with 19s and they look completely idiotic.

So you went out and spent money on wheels that are 1" bigger?

Yeah. I dont see a problem with that. Are you not considering the fact that they look different too? Its like doing the same thing to any car just making them look better. The 1" was a plus.

Depending on the car the size id pick would change but the largest i think id go generally is 18 no bigger.

Anything over 17" on a small 4-banger is stepping into ghetto territory.

Sedans can look great in 18\'s, look at the M3.

20s are reserved for SUVs only imo, ironic eh.

OK here\'s proof that wheels need to be the correct size, not just "as large as possible."

My car with 17" OZ Superleggera wheels:

Another car with 18" OZ Superleggeras, and it doesn\'t look quite right:

As I said, you\'re getting old. :p

I think the 18" looks fine (yours does too, but the extra inch doesn\'t hurt). :)
