It would be nice to twin turbo an SR20 though (if thats possible). Talk about crazy output. That thing would kill just about any tuner around here with the right tuning.

Yea, i was wondering... :D That skyline engine has got a crap ton of output. SR20 with 2 turbo\'s would be crazy. I\'m sure it\'s possible, but you\'d have to do a bunch of other stuff to it to make it fit/work. Any idea what the PSI is set at on a stock Skyline?

I\'m happy to see some folks mention Honda products in this thread.  Now for the bad news, if you care to credit this source:

New NSX Shelved
Honda cans supercar replacement in favour of luxury GT coupe

Honda has canned plans for a replacement for the NSX after a dramatic change of heart, according to sources in Japan. It has been an open secret that Honda was working on a successor to the 15-year-old NSX - the recent HSC show car being a public display of work in progress.

Early indications are that Honda now wants to build a large GT coupe instead of a new NSX. Such a car would compete directly with Mercedes\' highly successful SL and Bentley\'s Continental GT.

The move has come as a shock because Honda president Takeo Fukui had told the press that the NSX programme was on-going, even setting a date of 2005 for the car to be introduced (although Honda insiders privately admitted to it being nearer 2006 or 2007).

Various factors are said to have scuppered the project, according to information received by evo. Firstly, Honda had trouble getting the design of the HSC-based NSX to gel. It had tried a number of styling derivations but in the end the designers couldn\'t finesse the right end result.

Secondly, Honda looked again at
the business case for a new NSX. Honda Japan was said to be lukewarm on the HSC-derived NSX and factions in Honda\'s American arm reportedly wanted the money spent on a Boxster rival instead of another expensive, small-volume supercar.

Thirdly, the corporate environment has changed a lot since the mid-\'80s when the NSX was first developed. Honda then was a feisty company where R&D was ruled by strong, charismatic players who were keen on such showcase technology projects. Today, say sources, it\'s much harder to make a case for a new model such as an NSX replacement, despite Honda turning in record profits. Moreover, the NSX has never been much of a commercial success.

We also understand that there\'s no replacement for the S2000 roadster in the future model programme either - but that might be explained by US market requests for a more direct rival to the Porsche Boxster.

bmw m5 now thats a real car

Id have to agree but im an M3 person

And as for the Vette you posted: I saw one on the drive yesterday. Very sexy, but Mystiq posted my stingray. Any stingray is a good stingray.

And speaking of 180sx\'s

And SR20\'s

BTW Bent: here are those SR20DETT\'s :D (custom of course)
SR20DETT 1
SR20DETT 2
Id have to say that my favorite stock SR20 car would have to be the Sil-80. Its the front end of an s13 silvia and the rear of an rps13 180sx (240sx here). Talk about sexy

My friend... the one who wrecked his Z, well totalled it. He was telling me when he was racing he\'d peel out and just shoot back i in his seat because of the torque. After about 50-60 he\'d peel out again because the turbo\'s would spool up. Thats theraputic sheeit right there.

Oh, and Nicon. Those turbos are huge. But give me a woody. :ghey:

Lucky bastard. Do you know what car its from? s13,14,or15? Im sure they all fit the same. The S15\'s are just more powerful and harder to get (the black top version i think).

I can only dream of getting sideways with an SR20 under the hood of a hatchback 240. But Ill take my 86 any day :D. If only i had the funds. Im obsessed, what can i say.

i agree... to my knowledge there is no japanese car that comes out of the factory stock that can whoop a vette..that said tho i feel that the japanese cars are still more polished than american cars. the gap has been closed alot tho..american manufacturers have come a long way since the 85 topaz & 85 escort\'s...uhgh..my mom had an 85 topaz, and let me tell you everytime i was at the stop light i had to throw it in nuetral to keep it running :p

my friend had the same problem with his mom\'s 85 escort. it would be hilarious as we both would be at the stop light reving the engines well above 3500 rpm\'s just to keep it from cutting off :p

I\'ve got an SR20DE but no T. :( I\'ve got a 1992 Nissan Sentra. Slow as crap is all i\'ve got to say. It\'s a great engine though. It\'s still running at 100,000 miles strong. Nothing wrong with it yet. (Knock on wood).

it may be slow but trust you have a good product in nissan. i had a 92 maxima with over 350,000 miles on it,..and the engine was still in decent shape..it was just that my front end was shot...ball bearings,.axle, shocks..everything was just getting too costly to replace..but other than that i had no major problems with it...jap cars last forever..;)

I almost bought a used G20 with the SR20.  It\'s a neat little engine, the car had about 150k miles on it but it still ran smooth for a 4-banger.

350k on yor max is awesome, my friend in MD has that much on his 92 now.  There\'s a guy on max.org that posted with 560,000 on the clock, lol.

Man, where do you guys get your swaps done (or did you buy it like that)? And for how much. Im sure there is a good enough tuning place here but i think their charging prices for the swap is through the roof.

Ive never heard of that swap before. Thats pretty crazy, though i love the G20. It could be a great tuner car but i guess they dont really make parts for it because ive never seen a real tuner with one.

I know by the time this thread is over, the word is going to be out of style but thats sexy. Upper 12\'s arent bad.
