oh, and it doesn\'t matter if I’ve played it or not, I’m reserving judgment till I do. As you can see, i haven\'t once said it’s good or bad. I\'ve simply said only very lame people pass judgment on something they\'ve never played before... very sad indeed.

Fable took a long time, but it doesn\'t reflect that. You see it and so does everyone else. With all that time, a developer who knew what they were doing would have produced a better game.

Just so we all get settled on this perhaps eiksirf could tell us exactly what we should expect from Half-Life 2 and if it doesn\'t met up to the "time criteria" how we should appropriately be disappointed.  I take it this won\'t be a problem for you considering you A)Haven\'t played that one either and B)Know how long it\'s been in development.

personally, i wouldn\'t compare dev time between console and PC titles

two different platforms

a.  he very well could have played HL2, the  beta was leaked months ago.  hell, just watching some of the 20 minute trailers is enough.  obviously there is very scriptd sequences and open environments (unlike *cough* fable)
b.  HL2 has been in development since shortly after HL came out.  took me all of 5 seconds to figure that one out, genious

he never disagreed with you on that....

it\'s just that that\'s not his point. Is he disappointed in the way Fable turned out? yes, because it could have been a lot better (given the development time ). With that being said, does he think it\'s a bad game? No, he still likes it, it\'s just not as good as he would like it to be, but good enough (subjective)

in short: the game should have been 10/10, instead it was 9/10 (at least to him)
