Fable gets....... at gamespot

I don\'t know anything about Half-Life and Duke Nukem doesn\'t do much for me either. First person shooters aren\'t generally my thing.

Except I wouldn\'t necessarily play a game because of a rating. My personal tastes and cash flow figure in, heh.

Like Halo 2 is going to go over huge, but I\'m not buying it.

Then I suppose that purely based on yours and eik\'s time arguement that the game MUST be of a certain calibur to make up for all that time? That it can\'t just be any game, it has to be an exemplary.

One would hope so. But as Fable has shown, some developers can\'t pull it off if they have five months or five years.

To take something I\'m familiar with, look at all the delays on great Nintendo games and lengthy development time on many of Rare\'s classics.

Guess I\'ve just been conditioned to expect greatness. Pity.

eik, exactly how much better do you think those games turned out?  I don\'t remember every delayed Nintendo/Rare game of the past getting a perfect 10...so then you have to ask how good is it for the time development...which is a ridiculous question.

No, a good game is a good game regardless of how long it takes to develop. A lengthy development time should, however, indicate that a game will be good. (Unless the developer is lowsy.)

Look at it this way: rushed games suck. Why? Because they needed more development time? Hmm..

mm, if you don\'t even plan on buying the game, why does it bother you so much?  If you did plan on buying it, were you really that bored for 5 years, there were plenty of other games that came out between then and now.

All I\'m saying is that, I waited just like everyone else here, but I didn\'t anticipate every second, that would be dumb and a waste of time.  I have friends with countdown clocks to Halo 2, and I think it\'s sad.  I expect Halo 2 to be disapointing, I mean, I honestly didn\'t think the first one brought anything new.  However it was fun to play, and enjoyment means more than anything.  You can\'t put a price on enjoyment.

I\'m not one to call people out, but why bitch about a game you don\'t even own?

The amazing part is I got so close to the end and have since got sidetracked and since have yet to actually finish the game.

oh, and because peter M.  belongs in the closet.

i have mixed feelings on halo 2.  halo was a fantasic co-op game (aside from the eye punishing fps), untill it was beat, then it has zero replayability.
