I\'m too tired to look it up right now.  Hopefully someone with some knowledge of the game\'s timeline will chime in.

Who cares?  If people play the game and like it, good for them.  Being 10 hours long if you rush through it is hardly a negative in my book.  It takes me about half an hour to an hour to blast through Ikaruga and that\'s one of the best games of all time.  Does it matter to me, after I have played and enjoyed it, that it may have taken five years to complete its development cycle?  No, it does not.

I honestly never thought I\'d see the day where a game\'s development time would be something to use against it as a negative.  From conception to completion, I\'m sure plenty of games take anywhere from 2-5 years while others take less or even more, but what difference does that make so long as the final product is a lot of fun?

This is so incredibly stupid...

Some people need to get a life if they expect games to be 30 hours or more!  Maybe if these people got laid they would realize there is more to life than videogames.

I\'m 90% sure it\'s not a launch title but back on the time frame to make Fable, If I remember one of the videos they said there is 5 AI level systems.  I think it took longer to build the level designs and 5 AI level systems then making more quests to play with.  If eveyone waited 6 more months,  I think it would give some time to build more quests and this is what Fable needs to be one of the best Xbox RPG game.

By all accounts it’s plain to see this is not the system selling ‘best RPG eva’ it was touted to be 5 years ago. I have no problem with any decent ten hour game, it’s the half decade of hype preceding it that makes the situation laughable. How any of you can sit there with a straight face and say it shouldn’t matter is a marvel to me.

The reviews/previews read like a short version of Summoner with updated graphics and the option to play the hero as a sadistic prick, complete with red eyes and phallic symbols growing out of your head.  Plus, with it supposedly being almost impossible to die- what’s to keep the fun from ever ending?

Glad you finally joined in...

The hype is on a individual basis, you either read into it or you didn\'t.  I stopped reading up on Fable probably a good year ago if not longer and I have almost no idea what was intended for the game.

When you sit down and play the final product it doesn\'t matter what didn\'t make it in.  The game came out solid regardless of any broken promises.

As for the five year development...Star Ocean 3 was also five years in the making and from what I read it had quite a bit of hype surrounding it (in Japan anyway).  The review I read says it\'s a 40 hour rpg with a possible 80 if you do EVERYTHING...

[mm]OMG, five years!!!11, that RPG should be 200 hours long just because and I don\'t have anything else to add so I\'ll just keep saying that!!11[/mm]

Then I guess it isn\'t Summoner now is it:p

Guess you\'ll have to play it for yourself to see what the fuss is about until then why don\'t you keep an open mind towards it.

I enjoyed Summoner as well, it’s very doubtful I’d of enjoyed it even half as much if battles hadn’t presented any challenge.

individual hype? lol

Well in pms case individual hype was enough to pimp the idea to MS and walk away with a moneyhat five years ago
