If you know Ico, then you know nothing in that game is prerendered and all atmospheric effects are just as good while playing as when during cutscene.

The Ico devs are imho such great artists, they know how to handle PS2\'s technical \'limitations\' and use them to advantage.

But I\'m also affraid... cuz , will it be at least on par with Ico !? :(

Probably thats because its different and most people dont want to risk it.This game is not based on action. This is a game of atmosphere.Everything is calmy and eerie. It has this wondrous feeling into it.It is based on puzzle solving and protecting/caring a strange looking girl.
I see it as an "emotional" experience mostly. An old member once described it as "poetry in motion" or something. Its beautiful.
If you are mostly into action games with quick reflexes and cool looking characters this isnt the game for you.

Here\'s how the game plays --

Famitsu.com has a bit of info about it. To sum it up, it\'s not a sequel - they just used their experience and technology in this game. It\'s an action game where you have to fight the huge statues (there\'s a lot of them). Your only friend is the horse and the girl you must look after is very important to you, though it is not explained by the story in game. The main character, the girl and the horse are the only living things on earth.

Game-wise, you have to "catch" the giant and climb onto it. You have to find its weak points and attack them, but the surface of the giant can be maze-like, so the game is part action, part puzzle.

youre kidding right?

Anyway, the game looks great so far. Im not really dissapointed that they didnt continue the story of the boy and the girl and im glad they chose to start off fresh, but Im a little sceptical. Giant rock maze things? I guess the only thing that really catches me right off (for some odd reason) is the fact that they are the only living things on earth.

It already seems kinda out there like the first game. There were no real words or story lines but the visuals told you just enough. Im so stuck on ico that all these weapons like bows an arrows are threatening my ico world :(. Heh. Really though? I guess we can only wait.

Ueda already said that he wanted to make a game much more action oriented then Ico and this is the result.  This is not Ico 2, this is not Ico\'s world.  Ico 2 will come out at some point, but not in the next 2-3 years.  This is a completely original game.  It\'s not destroying any worlds or characters, it\'s just creating all new ones. :)

As for its release, I\'d say fall next year.  Not before.

Damnit but i want to have an ico-esque experience. heh. Oh well. Im sure this will be interesting. I think they should call it something else if its not based on the Ico world.

Nice looking game, I like the style a lot.

This could become very interesting.

Slightly bigger preview @ IGN

Ok, so core gameplay seems to be about puzzling the maze of the Giants to find it\'s weak spot. But, how in the hell are we supposed to do that if the Giant is romping n stomping like a madman around ? :bounce:  Even if you do manage to climb the giant you\'d have no time nor stable moment to solve the puzzle cuz the ride\'ll be so bumpy you\'d fall off to death instantly

I think those were fake "leaks"...not official. Maybe those were from ICO 2...maybe they\'re from NICO, and maybe they\'re nothing at all. But I will try out this game. I loved ICO, never had a surreal feeling like that in any game before...

The images you\'re thinking of were part of an advertising campaign, calling out for talent-for-hire;  A "Help Wanted" of sorts because the company needed some more team members.

Or maybe I\'m thinking of something completely different.
