i just thought i\'d post this since nobody has talked about it...i didn\'t know this one had jill valentine in it...i saw the first one and thought it was ok for a vid-game movie,..but i just thought it was too much action..or that the characters were never truly scared of the monsters..i know i won\'t see this until it comes on cable..but here\'s a review from ign...

this one looks a lot worse then the first one, why the hell do they insist on making a HORROR video game into an ACTION movie.

I liked how they were in that closed facility in the first one, where a zombie could come out from anywhere and get you.  The Red Queen was also kinda interesting.

The sequel just looks like some silly Jerry Brucheimer/Michael Bay production with tons of explosions and uneeded stunts.

I agree with whoever said that they should have kept Resident Evil in the horror genre.  It was never about the action, when I think Resident Evil, I think suspense and erieness, what we get in the movies is mild-mannered action with poor character development.

I saw previews for it and immediatly thought it looked like crap. Just doesn\'t look like that good of a movie.

[sarcasm]I definitely think they should have included 15 second cut scenes of doors opening, oh and awkward camera angles so you\'re not exactly sure where that noise is coming from but you know it\'s in the same room![/sarcasm]

Eh... I just got back from seeing this one.  The first one was definitely better IMO.  This one had more to do with the game than the first one, but this is about Milla Jovovich\'s character and they inserted characters from the game into the storyline to appease the video game fans it seems.

This one had 0 suspense and Nemesis was a joke.  The ending... lets just say they ripped off the beginning of The Fifth Element and even some special effects from the Terminator - ie. the terminator\'s binary code vision.

What a shame, but what can you expect from a movie about a video game.  On the other hand I always do enjoy watching Milla Jovovich.

Its easier to make an action film than a horror one. Just throw in a bunch of explosions and kool stunts. There arent too many aspects to think about. With horror you have to play mind games to a certain extent. Its easy to conceptualize semi scary things but to make them come to life is another thing.

i agree but if somebody\'s going to make a movie about res evil, they need to make it properly, or just don\'t make it at all,..whenever the main character encounters any type of monster, you hear these fake ass techno tracks start to play...adds so much cheapness to it..you don\'t care or really fear for the characters lives at all...

if this was a devil may cry movie, then i\'d say fine. you\'d expect the main char. to be a badass and not be afraid of anything...meh hopefully a director will come along and get it right one day..they seem to be doin an alright job with the super-hero movies...

One thing the RE movies series lack is the same "Hey, im alone trapped in here with 1,000 zombies and a pistol" feeling which the game was actually pretty much based on.
