I have one of those!!!!:D

Whether it\'s at one million or 750,000 those are some big time numbers.

EDIT:  Pfft, LIC, you didn\'t even like Metroid Prime.  You\'re not worth a discussion...j/k:p

I\'m surprised if that\'s actually some kind of record, but it just goes to show you what a group of gamers starving for a good game will do.

eik got it right on the head

a mirage on a desert of desperation

another look at it, halo sold 5 million copies worldwide since launch.  only 20% of those are that  exited about halo 2 to put 5$ down?

might as well call it halo 1.5

@mm- I\'m gonna buy it on release, don\'t plan on reserving it.

I loved the story and the sense of teamwork in Halo.  It created a great environment on the planet/building they were on.  The Flood definitely could have been better but they did a good job of setting them up.

Oh and the co-op rocks if you have a 2nd person.

It\'s also been able to take reserves for like 3 or 4 years.  I got my reserve for Halo 2 when I was a junior in High School cause it was supposed to come out that fall.  Well I\'m now a freshman in college, and still no Halo 2.

So everything happens for a reason.

Not taking away from the game, I think it will be good, but this is nothing to brag about.

If you dont\' think it\'s fun you obviously haven\'t played it with a group of guys on seperate boxs.  Here in Pickerington Halo is huge, whenever we have some spare time we get a game going.  A set of twins from here won halo nationals 2003, Ogres.  Playing with them is tons of fun.

Nothing to brag about?  You can probably count on one hand how many games get this kind of attention.  Grand Theft Auto and Zelda come to mind.

I suppose that is one way to spin it.
I am excited about its release and am looking foward to it, however I have never been one to preorder anything so
I also will get it on release.
I don\'t want Fry\'s earning intrest on my $5.00 in addition to all the other preorderers when I can keep it.

If they have copies when I come in to get it, great...
If they don\'t, no problem.
I\'ll get it in a day or two or even two weeks if need be
(though I doubt MS/Bungie will make me wait long at all).

There are other good games (and expansion packs) I can play while I wait, but then, I don\'t feel desperate.

Hell, I got the GTA DoublePack 2 days before the stores were legally alowed to put them on the shelves and it was a very hot item at the time.
(not as hyped as Halo 2, but  I mention only to demonstrate the overratedness of preordering and or using preorders as a yardstick for a gamers exitedness about the release of a game).

I remember when Halo was supposed to come out on ps2 as well and i really wanted to play it and then that version got canned. So when i finally got to play the box version it was pretty kool but after a while and getting to play it for some time, it just started to bore me and give me a headache.

After that, going back to play too a little extra effort. Multiplayer is alright though. Still gives me headaches though. At one point in time i really would have rather played Red Faction 2. Flame all you want but thats how i felt.

The second looks a lot better IMO, but since i dont have an xbox i dont know if ill play it. Not heartbreaking news really. The loss of online play on GT4 was more upsetting. Not to be an ass about it.

And HALO 2 just beat the records they set.

I surprised by the way you guys\'re trying to spin this into something negative.. :/

LiC: I think you\'ve participated in enough HALO discussions to know why the game catches so much praise, and why everybody anticipates HALO 2 much. Do you really need to ask?

I do not understand how someone could flame you or anyone
else just because a game is not your cup of tea.

Geez, you essentially only said you liked Halo the 1st time around
but it did not hold much replay value for you... there is nothing to flame for even if you did not even like it the 1st time.
There is no shame in that.

Oh yeah, if you live near Dallas, I \'ll lend you my Xbox and copy of Halo 2, no one should miss out on it. ;) *as I add to the Hype*
