You make it sound as if people were forced to buy an Xbox when you put it that way.  People chose to buy Halo, 5 million of them.

Hmm.. Another game that makes it easy to get guys together to have fun?

Yup, you\'re right... Halo is the only one!

I don\'t see the big deal about Halo. Co-op was fun, but that\'s all I ever liked. With friends, I\'d much rather go for DOA or Need for Speed or Tetris or jamming paper clips in my eyes than play Halo four-player.

boz, you asked for another game, and right away,  i gave one

halo did as well as it did, because of a severe lack of competition.  it\'s a good game (untill you beat it), but the xbox never really had anything else at that level.  just alot of letdowns (ie. panzer dragoon orta, fable, toejam and earl,

halo was the system seller, wtf else were people gonna buy the system with at launch?  kabuki warriors?

how many copies of FF10 were sold?  over 10 million
or GT3?  over 15 million
shall i continue?

and dont even try to pull that "well more PS2\'s were sold than xbox\'s" crap.  who\'s fault was that?

1: Mario Kart.. That will get group\'s together. Plenty of other games also.

2: Don\'t dare call Panzer Dragoon Orta a letdown. It roxor your boxor or whatever internet slang is hip at the moment.

i gotta agree with mm on this... whenever somebody thinks of xbox the first thing that comes out of their mouth is halo..halo is the only game that has defined that system...

hmmmm, mario kart

MK for 64 has to be the all time funnest game i ever played 4 way.  especially with 3 roomates and a 1/2 keg of yeungling

orta was a flop, bro.  as much as i loved PD1 and 2 and saga on saturn, orta was a severe letdown

Just wanted to join in on the multiplayer thing, as much as I love ya\' Boz, there\'s dozens of games out there that\'ll get 4 (or more) players around and be as fun, if not more so than Halo.

Any Tekken freaks here ever play Tag Tournament 4-players? Mmm.. that is probably up there for the most 4 player fun for me. TimeSplitters 2 with multple systems. OOH, OOH, as much of a dud as the single player game was, Quake 2 on PSX was incredible fun 4 player! Oh the memories are all coming flooding back.. We used to play elimination, so the last player alive was the winner, and the loser had to go to the local conveniece store and buy the chips (flavored with chicken salt, IIRC) for everyone else! Only problem was it was almost always the same person who lost and he never wanted to get the damn chips!!!

...

...Sorry. :( Just.. reminiscing.

That\'s just it, mm.  Alot of people bought an Xbox FOR Halo.  There is a reason the game is still on the top 10 selling games in the U.S., people like it.

Where are you getting your numbers? They seem to be inflated somewhat...

I can\'t find anything on GT3.

FFX = 6.6 million as of Jan. \'04

Why can\'t you take into account that PS2 has more system selling games than Xbox?  I think it has everything to do with the amount of success for the console and the size of your ready, willing, and able audience.

Out of all the games mentioned the only one that had nearly as much fun factor/mass appeal was Mario Cart 64.  But frankly, we played that to death.  It was Bond, Mario Cart, and now Halo.  And the memories I have from Halo are just as great as any from the previous games.   I\'m really starting to think none of you have had 3 on 3 4 on 4 nights of halo.  With that said, don\'t really know how you could comment on all this.

Also, mm, bringing up all the other sales.  You\'re really wasting your time cause I don\'t care.
