Got the collectors edition in my hands now.

I hate this STeam crap. I am already being forced to update before I can play the game. Updating sucks ass on 56k. I just want to play HL2, damnit.

I got 2 pc\'s ;

1 (cable) internet pc :  PIII  667mhz, 256mb, Geforce2GTS with only a crappy cdr drive with only 4,58 Gb free on HD partition D
:C has 1,78 Gb free.

1 3D workstation offline becuz of safety reasons : very able to play HL2 but located in a very different room away

HL2 released in Europe DVD only. What to do ? :confused:

- DVD drive for internet pc so i can register and once that\'s done copy paste n burn folder so i can move it to the workstation.

- get a cheap usb network adaptor to get the same thing done.

Advise ? :(

Well, I respect Valve for their work and the fact they want to protect that. It\'s just that this measurement, Steam... is more bothersome to more ppl than they think....

Anybody got advice to my question btw ?

You have to "Activate" the game to play it online before you can play it offline.  Apparently, it\'s also forcing him to update his game before he can even play it which is causing havoc over his dial-up.
