It\'s definitely bad news. Monopoly is bad, and EA is bad. An EA monopoly = double-bad.

... And they\'re moving right in that direction. Sega had better tuck their pants into their socks because they could be next!

Now I hope DICE says no and stays independent.

Good GOD

whats next ?

are they going to replace Sam Fisher with one of their piss poor characters that was so obviously produced by a committee group.

Remember kids

A donkey was a horse designed by a committee group.

^ On the mid to long term basis such CEO\'s ruin the game industry. This is only beneficial for their own bankaccounts.

Any sane person sees this is not a good thing for the \'whole picture\'. By taking such a big piece of the sweet cake they\'re
making the whole thing turn sour.  :o

its funny to sit and watch as you literally think your gaming lives are over, EA may put out some crap, but just because they bought some shares of ubi soft doesn\'t mean they run the company. Besides I\'m sure some other up start gaming company is around the corner.

With the rising costs of game development, would you rather smaller companies cut corners and eventually fizzle out or would you rather they get financial backing from big time publishers like EA.

Either way EA is going to get their hands on these franchises. You can get it the good way where EA controls the development house or the bad way where EA buys the franchise at a liquidation sale and puts a crap ass team in place ( or worse, shelves it indefinately).

The amazing thing is that people complain about a certain company buying up developers like Bungie, but when EA does this and secures massive deals with the NFL, it is looked over.

Personally, I was never a fan of Trip Hawkins. Screw 3DO and screw EA.
Thank you and goodnight.
