Hi, new membe,r to the forums, my wife bought me a PS2 for christmas to give me something to do.I am 44 and suddenly find myself retired after a massive stroke. i am trying to hook it up to the tv,  but i can not get it to work. I am not sure what i am doing wrong, i have the av cable plugged into the rear of the unit and the jacks plugged into the front of the tv white to white yellow to yellow and red to red, the power adaptor was plugged into the unit and the plug of course into the wall.The console powers up,and the red light is lit on the front of the unit. Not sure what else i need to do. I need help.

Make sure it\'s on channel 3, and make sure you\'re in the right video mode.

You flipped the console switch in the back to the on position, right? Sounds stupid but a lot of people overlook that.

once you have turned it on at the back you need to press the power button on the front also (the one with the red light on). That will switch the console on.

if plugged into the auxilary plug in the back of the tv, tune your tv to the auxilary channel, hit AUX on your tv remote.

OK,all the plug ins are  in the front but i will try the aux button, once my wife has finished watching her movie

Wait, what PS2 do you have? The original or the slim one? I was thinking of the original. I don\'t know shit about the slim model.

I\'m sure the problem isn\'t anything major. Probably something stupid. I need to mess around with my brothers slim PS2 and get a feel for it. Try reading the owners manual a bit more. It might have some troubleshooting.

it\'s hooked up right.

1) Make sure you press the red-light button to make it turn green.

2) Look on your TV\'s remote for an Input/Game Mode/TV Video button to switch inputs to the front AV jacks.

There is no power button on the back of the slim line. Just plug it in and hit the red button top right. Should turn green and you are good to go. Look in your tv\'s menu for what button controls the A.V. inputs on the front of your tv. Push that button on the remote and you should have a picture. In other words what THX said.  :D  Let us know if you get it working.

turn red to green and change the channel to your aux input.  Some TVs switch to aux when you go below channel 3.  Some you hit a tv/video button.

Not only am i a parylized old fart i am also blind to boot, seems i missed the av button on the front of the tv av3 did the trick. Do you know of a joystick i can use with this PS2?
