Some help please
« on: January 11, 2005, 06:39:37 PM »
I just occasionally play Counter Strike Source.  To ensure it runs well I normally run it out of 800x600, but as of a week ago the 800x600 started not to fit the screen right.  It makes no sense as to why, but it\'s scewed to the left and not as tall.  The moniter settings and main resolution haven\'t be changed any.  If I bump it up to 1024x768 it fits right but I lose needed FPS.  Any idea as to why it\'s doing it and how I could maybe fix it?

what color is it in?  24 bits, 16 bits, or 32 bits?

and the most important thing of all, what refresh rate is it in?  If you adjust the computer monitor in 75 Hz, and then you use it in 60 Hz....then there is a problem with screen size...so go adjust the refresh back to where it was...

The refresh rate was changed when I took my tower somewhere else then back here.  I swore I changed it back and reopened the game but I dunno.

Am I forced to just run the game with my computer at 60hz?

i dunno.

I prefer at least 72 Hz or higher. 75 Hz is more acceptable to me.

Nope, it\'s a CRT moniter.  I didn\'t really want to put that much effort into it but I guess I\'ll have to.  Either that or deal with it being shorter than normal.

I remember checking a box to only show refresh rates that the moniter could handle.  I had it at  72 on mine then I took my tower to a friends and I know it lowered it to 60.  When I got home they didn\'t fit right.
