5 if you count other systems, ehh.

Sara: One day sale on a 6600GT AGP here.. $206 shipped.

128meg, Standard DDR, less pipelines etc.  Don\'t know if they released a newer card or changed it since, but from people i\'ve spoken too, they\'re pushing a stripped down version of the GT cards and calling it GT.

Asus card (128M/DDR)

Albatron Card (256M/DDRIII)

XFX Card (256M/DDRIII)

Leadtek Card (256M/DDRIII)

EVGA Card (256M/DDRIII)

MSI Card (256M/DDRIII)

Chaintech Card  (256M/DDRIII)

As you can see, you\'ve got a GT thats more like a standard 6800 card. Asus are screwing people. Although they\'ve got good mobos, I\'m using a A7N8X deluxe myself.

Alright, I went with the P4P800-SE mobo and XFX 6600GT that was on sale for $206.  The only thing I didn\'t order is the case and psu.  There\'s an Antec case on sale at Best Buy this week that actually beats newegg\'s price.

You guys are great!!  Except theomen, who referred me to ebay.

don\'t be cheap on the psu. Get a quality unit like Antec, Fortron, OCZ etc.  Make sure it has atleast 20A on the 12V Rail.

That\'s debatable.  But if you run into stability problems I\'d guess the culprit to be the PSU also.  You can always buy a PSU later down the road if that\'s the case.

I have a 400watt with a 6800gt and it runs fine (when I don\'t zap it with static shock anyway). :p

With cpus, you shouldn\'t push them more then 50% - 70% of they\'re maximum power output. They like it that way and purrrrrrrr.   With a 6800GT, i personally wouldn\'t go below 450W, but i do have S@#tloads of crap coming off my pc.

Well I don\'t think it has less pipelines or else they can\'t call it a GT without being sued. It has less RAM yes, this I know, it was a lot cheaper than the 256mb ones which I unfortunately couldn\'t afford.

Didn\'t know it used cheaper, worse RAM though :/
Oh well, it still performs OK enough and for the price that I got it at the time it was worth it[/B][/QUOTE]
