Oddly, I look to Midway\'s Blitz to be the most fresh football title next year.
NFL Blitz is definitely my favorite football game. Something about body-slamming the opposing team just seems like so much fun to me. :D

Blitz is like NFL streets for me. Fun as hell playing with some friends but boring as hell playing alone.

Here\'s something I just wrote up about Blitz. (No NFL in the title anymore.)

Midway’s “NFL Blitz” series is one of over-the-top violence, and as it moves forward with the “Blitz” franchise, Midway’s Chief Marketing Officer Steve Allison said, “Our game will (now) include all the gameplay and fun the NFL won’t allow.”

The next Blitz title will feature more hits, bigger celebrations and a season mode with behind-the-scenes antics including front-office politics and off-the-field altercations between players.

That\'s basically the gist of what\'s been announced so far.

yeah, blitz is more recreational. really in the arcade tradition, not as much consoles.  i like football games but i end up playing baseball games longer for some reason. hits me in the longer attention span spot. like serious fpses.

all the gameplay tweaks to mlb 2k5 do sound pretty sweet. interested to see about the kzone pitching, and the new steal controls. all in all, it seems like maybe the ea thing will have some positive results if it creates some pockets of innovation.

true true, blitz is fun. i\'m not a huge football fan but i\'ve played it at my brother\'s house and i must confess it\'s usually a pretty good time.

at the very least it can be said that football\'s gotten a little more attention when it come sto video games, wheras baseball\'s kind of gotten passed over in recent years. which is why it does my heart good to see a game like mlb 2k5 hitting the shelves, because it seems like there\'s a little something new under the sun for baseball fans. 2k5 is the first baseball game in a while that i\'ve been excited about, because with the upgrades from 04 and the added  features, it looks like it\'s going to be a good time.

Now the only problem is waiting for it to come out. Because when I want to play a game, I want to play it NOW and not wait two more weeks. But wait I shall... :(
