They have escorts which later in the game 42-45 are super deadly, early on they are easy to
evade as you just have to slip into silent running and go down to about 50-100 meters.
I just got done playing a mission where I sank 40k tonnes, one of the was a war-ship.
(just 32% realism though :P )
Btw you get a map with the game showing the air coverage.. In 39 there is only a circle around the UK.. But in 43 these circles have grown to cover almost the whole of the Atlantic ocean, as it takes several seconds to dive the airplanes are the most dangerous enemy.
When I was on my way home from my mission I got attacked by a bi-plane just outside Scotland. I got away by crash diving.
Awesome game, so much better than SH2. One cool thing is crew management. When you’re just cruising around your crew can rest.. they get tired etc so you have to plan a bit before a attack, because you want your men to be in tip-top condition before an attack.
Wonderful graphics, the best looking water to date, the storms are really amazing.
