It should be played however gets you a win.  If the Suns can win by scoring 120 a game, god bless them, I hope they kill the Spurs or Pistons.

In fact, if you ask me, the Suns come closer to playing the game the way it should be played than pretty much every other team in the NBA.  It\'s not a question of offense being wrong and defense being right.  What\'s right is playing as a team, and that\'s also what wins.  What\'s wrong is playing as individuals, that\'s what loses games, and that\'s what happens ENTIRELY too much in the NBA.  That\'s why it\'s so boring to watch so often these days.

The Suns move as a team, play as a team, and win as a team.  I\'ll be damned if that\'s not basketball as it\'s meant to be played.

Still won\'t beat the pistons

Detroit is good.  They\'re champions.  They play as a team.  They\'ve got talent.

But can they really beat a team with not one, but two super heros?  I think not!

Kobe and Shaq were a much better duo. And they also had Karl Malone.

Defense + Teamwork = championships

Kobe was too much of a drama queen. Shaq\'s new sidekick doesn\'t have any loose baggage like raping a girl.

Miami is another highly functionable team. They completely dominated their opening game on both sides of the court.
Who is this anamoly we call Jumpman? How is he able to do what he does and still survive after years of torment? It seems he feeds on the hate, growing with an intense passion to put unassuming members in their place.

How can you say in one breath that Kobe and Shaq were a better duo than Shaq and Wade, and in the next that teamwork wins championships?

I would take this year\'s duo over last year\'s in a heart beat.

And Malone did nothing last year.

You already knew i was going to defend Kobe Bryant. Wade is not even in the same league as Kobe. How could you even try to compare this rookie to the likes of Kobe. Kobe and shaq were awesome when they played together. Too bad things got in the way but detroit just out played the Lakers in the finals.

Wade cannot carry the load like Kobe could. Shaq could look forward to Kobe owning the 4th. Whenever either of those two on the floor the lakers always had a chance no matter what the score was.

Wade and company will not get pass the pistons.

Suns may have it... oh shit, they lack defense.  You can\'t be giving up 100 a night and expect to win a championship.  Look at Kobe and Shaq... I mean the Lakers last year.  All individuals, not because they wanted to, but because Kobe made it that way.  If that team didn\'t have Kobe, there would have been a great chance they would have beaten the Pistons.

Where\'s Kobe right now?

On a damn golf course with Tiger Woods.

There is a difference between carrying the load (ie. Michael Jordan / Isiah Thomas / Magic Johnson / Shaq) and being selfish.  Kobe only cared about being a star in LA\'s eyes, more so than that of his own teammate.  To Kobe, looking better than Shaq was more important than his 4th title.

This year Wade scored 24.1 ppg, had 6.8 assists a game, and 5.1 boards per game.  He shot 48%.

Last year, with Shaq, Kobe scored 24.0 ppg, had 5.1 assists per game, 5.5 boards per game.  He shot 44%.

How has Wade in any way not filled what Kobe game the Lakers?

When the Pistons played the Heat, throwing out the end of the season game where Wade was only in half the game and Shaq didn\'t play, cause it meant nothing to them, each team won once.  The Pistons won their game by one, the Heat won their game, the second of the games, by 11.  Wade averaged 24 ppg, 6.5 assists per game, and 7.5 boards per game, shooting 51%.

Oh, and Wade had 17 points in those two fourth quarters, meaning he was his best at the end of the game.  That\'s a 34 ppg pace.  He also had 4 assists in those 4th quarters, a 8 apg pace.

Oh, and one more thing.  Wade, with the same supporting cast (Butler, Odom, Grant, etc) that Kobe has this year, MADE the playoffs last year, as a #4 seed.  He won 8 more games than Kobe has with the same cast, and Kobe missed the playoffs...they\'re currently tied for the 11th best team in the West.  So where exactly is this notion that Kobe is worlds better coming from?

And then you throw in the chemistry factor.

And the motivation factor.

And the fact that Shaq is in twice as good shape.

And the fact that Wade doesn\'t have a rape trial going on.

And as far as the Suns, what are you basing the idea that you can\'t give up 100 ppg and win on?  When is the last time you saw a team that plays the way Phoenix does right now?

First of all you know the east sucks ass. If you put the lakers in the east they would have made the players. You can\'t obvious think you can make a case that Wade is a good as Kobe.

Wade is good but don\'t go trying to compare him or make him equal to Kobe. Just not possible.

I think miami has a chance at the pistons but I don\'t think they will beat them. In the long run I just don\'t see the heat doing it. I mean the pistons look damn good. I mean damn good. I just don\'t see them losing

The Lakers were 13-17 against the East this year.
That means their winning percentage against the east was .433, their overall winning percentage was .415.  Wouldn\'t have made that much of a difference.

The Heat were 12-16 against the West last year, as a comparison number.  That\'s a winning percentage of .428, which is about the overall winning percentage of the Lakers this year.

If I were starting a team, I\'d take Wade over Kobe.  I\'m dead serious.

While I have to agree, I think Wade is a better teammate, I think Kobe has something Wade doesn\'t. Nobody has that clutch shot like Kobe, nobody. He is as close to clutch as Jordan was.
