No, it\'s actually a noun, so it can be used to label someone.

Someone who talks shite is called a Gobshite

Labeling someone would be an adjective. A gob is your mouth, and shite is coming out of it, hence the word gobshite. You are a gobshite! <----- being used as an adjective. You can\'t spout gobshite. Your gob can spout shite. There\'s a difference.

I\'m sorry, but when I was at school, when you labelled someone (ie giving them a name to call them by), it was classed as a noun. When you are using words to add descriptive comment, that\'s an adjective.

"Shut it, you little gobshite!"

That\'s classed as a noun as far as I\'m concerned.

If I was to say that sentence as an adjective, I would say:

"Shut it, you little gob of shite!"

However, you still can\'t spout gobshite, with the definition you showed me. ;)

I guess at a push, it can be used as both a noun and an adjective depending on the situation, but trust me, it\'s primary function, is as a noun.
