[sp] Na. Because when palpatine told him he knew about his visions anakin was like "how the hell did you know.

anyway..im not that big of a star wars fan so it didnt really blow me away. I liked how they made the transition of anakin being good to bad, but i felt very sorry for the actor inside of darth vader\'s suit (whether it was the guy who played anakin or not) that had to go "NOOOOOOOOOOO" when he found out his chick died. Was sooo cliche. [/sp]

I\'m pretty sure Anakin was telling palpatine his dreams off-screen. Just like he told him how he butched the sand people.

What i personally don\'t understand is how anakin could believe all the crap palpatine was telling him even after he realized he was a sith lord. Jedi\'s are told from day 1 sith are evil,  manipulative, power hungry, liars. Yet anakin still believes he can save padme with these new found powers.  Would\'nt u naturally think "this dood is evil, he\'s been sprouting crap from day 1, i can\'t trust a word he\'s saying ???[/sp]

[sp] How do you figure all of this? It would seem rational that palpatine was the aprentice but there was too little evidence to prove it. It seems more likely that palpatine was just feeding Anakin bullshit to make him crumble and succumb to his will. Also, how you figure that he or his master got shmi pregnant is beyond me. Of course it could make sense but like i said before, there is just a huge late of evidence. There could be a million answers. Besides, in the legend didnt he say that he could restore life not create it? idk.

I think Viper was right about Anakin and not telling Palpatine as well.

On Anakin trusting palpatine: Anakin did tell on Palpatine when he discovered the truth, but you must remember there were so many things clouding his judgement. First of all, Palpatine was like a friend. He always seemed believed in Anakin to the fullest extent. Second, Anakin wasnt fully convinced of the Jedi council\'s actions and felt some hostility towards their not giving him master status etc. Lastly, his strong attachment to Padame made him weak and easy to manipulate. Under such emotional strain it is fairly believeable that he could be swayed (this is not even mentioning his feelings in ep 2 and his hatred/rebeliousness in generall)

Dont forget, there were often times where he struggled to comprehend his actions. I think it was fairly believeable overall. [/sp]

I saw it last night.

Personally, I thought the story was great, and the action was great.

On the other hand, the acting, and in many cases the dialogue were pathetic.

Oh well, I guess that\'s to be expected after Ep 1 & 2.

[sp]I think it\'s kind of believable what Anakin did.  The fact that he relayed the information that Palpatine was a Sith lord to Mace Windu in the first place showed he had good intentions, despite his relationship with Palpatine.  He was just too in love with Padame.  He wanted Palpatine to be defeated and captured, so that he could still learn from him how to save Padame without having to do anything evil.  He was just in a place in that situation when Mace Windu and Palpatine were fighting where he had to make that split second decision, and he did what he had to do, he thought, to have a chance of saving Padame.  After he had done that, there was really no turning back.  Even if he had wanted to follow the light still, what could he have done?  The Jedi would never have accepted him, and he had given into his emotions.  They would have known about him marriage, his killing a Jedi to help a Sith Lord, etc., he woulda been fucked to continue on that path, and he wanted to save Padame more than anything.  It was like him sacraficing his everything to save the person he loved.

On a completely different note, am I the only one who wondered during the movie if they happened to have abortions a long time ago in a galaxy far far away?  I\'m pretty sure that woulda saved a whole lotta trouble :p[/sp]

[sp]Just got finished watching... I get the feeling that they way Anakin lived was by taking the life from Padome (spelling?) somewhow, she lost the will to live and Anakin lived even after burning almost to death, not to mention having his legs removed. Either that or the chancelor did it (i know I slaughtered the spelling of their names here.)[/sp]

I\'m not really in to Star Wars but I must say that Revenge of the Sith is one of the most spectacular movies I\'ve ever seen.  The splendid visuals, the overwhelming scale, and the powerful story make it such an impressive accomplishment.

I really can\'t say enough about it so I\'ll just stop there.

Anakin always seemed very questionable about the Jedi, so in a way it doesn\'t seem that surprising that he bought into Palp in that kind of fashion.
Who is this anamoly we call Jumpman? How is he able to do what he does and still survive after years of torment? It seems he feeds on the hate, growing with an intense passion to put unassuming members in their place.

ok, when reading the script to me it really looks like palpatine was the apprentice and his master did create anakin imo.

[sp]
PALPATINE: (continuing) Did you ever hear the tragedy of Darth Plagueis "the wise"?

ANAKIN: No.

PALPATINE: I thought not. It\'s not a story the Jedi would tell you. It\'s a Sith legend. Darth Plagueis was a Dark Lord of the Sith, so powerful and so wise he could use the Force to influence the midi-chlorians to create life ... He had such a knowledge of the dark side that he could even keep the ones he cared about from dying.

ANAKIN: He could actually save people from death?

PALPATINE: The dark side of the Force is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural.

ANAKIN: What happened to him?

PALPATINE: He became so powerful . . . the only thing he was afraid of was losing his power, which eventually, of course, he did. Unfortunately, he taught his apprentice everything he knew, then his apprentice killed him in his sleep. (smiles) Plagueis never saw it coming. It\'s ironic he could save others from death, but not himself.

ANAKIN: Is it possible to learn this power?

PALPATINE: Not from a Jedi.

The smile that palpatine gives imo shows he was responsible for it. Why else would he have such a smug smirk?
Also check out this this and this link, look around the net for "Plagueis"  his name seems to come up a lot with sidious ;)

Soully, the more i think about it, the more i think youre right about Palpatine and Plagueis. After all, It seems ironic that it basically happens again when [sp]Darth Kills Palpatine in RotJ. But on the note of him seeding his aprentice, it still seems a bit sctechy. Possible, but just a little far fetched, given the lack of evidence.[/sp]

Some of the dialogue was pretty corny and could have been better but in the grand scheme of things i cant complain. Natalie Portman is hot :p.

Well, after watching Episode III on Friday, a couple of friends and I decided to watch Return of the Jedi last night, and that was an interesting experience. Kind of gives you an entirely new perspective on some of the scenes in the movie, pretty cool.

One thing that really irked me with the new DVD versions of the Older Films is what they did at the end. Where Vader\'s dead and his body is being burned at the Ewok Party thing, the three images appear of Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Yoda. Not sure if this qualifies as a spoiler or not, but in the newer films, they replaced the older actor of Anakin Skywalker (what he\'d look like older) and they put Hayden Christiensen there. I guess they were going for the Jedi as how they looked when they actually were Jedi or something, I dunno. Either way, I found it weird.

See Yuz.
What do Kerry Wood, Mark Prior, Matt Clement, and Carlos Zambrano have in common?

They\'re the pieces to the next great pitching rotation of our time, what else?

GO CUBS!
