I agree with Nolaws.

Sure there will be less good looking games on PS3 as well. But do you really
think Sony\'s crazy enough to have a made a PS3 business model which is based on an expensive brand name recognized product, which fails to deliver !?

Also........in all PS3 threads on the internet.... hasn\'t it ever occurred to anyone that maybe... maybe .. there might come some other PS3 game which\'ll look better than Killzone ?

It seems ppl can only think inside the box ; what they have seen. Alot of them have a tough time to extrapolate.

Imagine Konami\'s wizardry on PS3. Ubisoft Montreal, Criterion !?

They\'ll 1up that Killzone footage.

That\'s the thing though.

That Killzone video was pre rendered. Please just straight up, tell us if it\'s real time or not. They did it with the Unreal engine demo and Fight Night 3.

With other words expect graphics as good as FF:the Spirits within or one of the animatrix episodes?

Yes, I know. That\'s why it\'s hard to believe such a difference in quality exists within the same console. A console that isn\'t supposed to be out for a long time.

What the hell are you smoking? Of course it was real-time. They were playing around with it in real-time with the camera crap.

Imho we should take the focus off that Killzone footage. It has become like an obsession, like a benchmark score to some pc gamers.

Look, it\'s concept videofootage. It\'s basically a media entity on itself.

What Harrison and Guerrilla are saying is that ingame graphics in final PS3 games are going to be on par with those visual concept looks.

Like I hinted ; don\'t judge PS3 by solely this footage. Konami/Kojima on PS3 ! Hello, anyone !?

We know it\'s pre rendered CG. What I\'m disputing is whether the PS3 will be able to put that out right of the bat. I\'m just going to assume they\'ll reach that quality 2-3 years into the systems life.

For example that PS2 could render the same data from CGIC sequences in real time like the FF old man tech demo and the FF8 tech demo.
He also stated that the HD could be used for content in the gaming world that would change as time passes (for example:plant a tree let it grow),
He said that developers might let the PS2 understand the logic of how bones work and it will generate the movement in a realistic non-predefined animation.
He also showed tech demos showing PS2\'s ability to generate random content with birds flying that never repeated the same pattern again.
The only game that might have used that was ICO

And that Killzone video looks way too great to believe that it can happen.
I ll see it then I ll believe

I think that old man face demo from ps2 debut has been greatly surpassed by SH3 faces.  I can\'t find a pic of it off hand, but it trounces that old man face IMHO.

Now that I think about it, you\'re right. The character faces in Silent Hill are on par, if not better than the old man tech demo. We\'ve come along way, and we\'re definitely seeing games now that surpass that. Uni just has his panties in a knot.

Well... that particular cutscene with James Sunderland is prerendered CG, using the ingame model though.

But you\'re right about Silent Hill 3. That model of Douglas, the old detective is indeed realtime as is Heather\'s model.

Like I said : Konami on PS3 ;)

Silent Hill 4 has great looking character models. But that image was all I could find in 10 seconds. Google Image Search. ;) Something about this is disturbing...
