I\'ll miss this man when he leaves the industry, he is so original when doing anything it might be in his life.

Heck, he didn\'t even read the first paragraph.

"Metal Gear games have been around since the days of the MSX. However it was with the PSOne title Metal Gear Solid that Hideo Kojima\'s cinematic vision of videogames came to global prominence. Through several more Metal Gear games, and Zone of Enders, Kojima has shown himself to be one of the best games developers around."

nope I scanned it while I was at work, couldn\'t read the whole thing.

Hideo didn\'t have much to do with Zone of Enders from a developers stand point from what I remember. He was involved in getting a team up and running to develope Zone of Enders, but from that was extent of his involvement as I understood it.

There was lots of talk of Hideo breaking away from metal Gear to do a new project on the PS2 but that never materialized and instead we have 2 versions of MGS2 and a 2nd version of MGS3 coming out with MGS4 planned.

The first Z.O.E was medicore, it wasn\'t until the sequel that Kojima struck gold and even then, I question how much influence he had on the title. It really was nothing like the original one, which sold only because of the MGS2 demo.

Personally, I think it\'s a shame Kojima receives so much acclaim for the MGS series, which doesn\'t really impress me. If anything, people should check out Snatcher.

Development costs are high these days... That\'s why we have GT4, GTA:SA , Tekken5, RE4, SH4, Pro Evolution Soccer 4, etc.  It\'s names that became big and have made money.  You can see that Hideo wants to do many other projects, but the chance of it failing is far to great and risky.

I am worried that the Golden Age of gaming is slowely coming to an end with companies like EA supplying games to the casual gamer that is happy with graphical updates and more commentary, etc.

I have all 3 current consoles (and a stack of older ones) and, for me, I think Nintendo will be the ones to keep an eye on.  They are about games, and nothing else.  Sony is about TV\'s, High-Fi\'s, Portable\'s, etc. and Microsft needs no Introduction.

Anyway, I\'m just glad that companies like Capcom, Konami and Square Enix is there and doing games the way it should be done - unrushed .

We\'re off topic here , but why not

You\'ve forgotten all of Sony\'s 1st party studios who\'ve pumped out a tremendous amount of really good games this generation. Personally I don\'t think Nintendo has done much of anything special this last generation. They\'ve had their share of fun creative games like always, but Sony has made huge strides in their 1st party and publishing output. Sure the PS2 offers a tremendous amount of crap to surf through, but head to head the PS2 also offers many more AAA titles to choose from.

If you ask me Sony is the one to continue to keep an eye out for, They are about the whole package, and have made huge strides in game developement and continue to invest heavily into their studios, as well as their hardware.

As for Microsoft, your comment is nothing more then a biased dislike for MS. MS will continue to make headway and get better at the console thing. Their online package is already heralded as the best of any of the consoles, and that is a big part of the future of console gaming.

I\'m sure its part of the formula, but I still wish Hideo would take on another project from top to bottom and give it the attention he does the MGS series.  The MGS series hasn\'t evolved as much as I would of liked this generation IMO.
