Well....I\'m late on this(as usual) but I rented the movie today.

I enjoyed it and thought it was good, however I can definitely see how some people might hate it.

It doesn\'t feel like a superhero-movie.Everything that happens in this movie could happen in real life and therefore when people go to see a super-hero movie to escape this world and  enter a magical one this might not be the movie for them.It was more like a action film wich starred a superhero.

Now before LIC comes barging in here screaming "OMG you obviously haven\'t read the comics!!!!!!" I can totally see how this movie divided the Batman fanbase into 2 sides:Burton or Nolan.

The Joker is hinted upon in this film but who can picture the Joker in this ultra-realistic Gotham City? They might have to change the Joker to make him a plausible villain in the next film.

Anyway...that\'s my take on things.

This reminds me, I still have to watch it. When I saw it at the drive-in I couldn\'t pay attention at all - and not even for a good reason, heh. We own it now, I still have to check it out.

Plausibility is good in Batman\'s world, IMO.

The more realistic, the better. Even so, a lot of Batman Begins rides that surreal line.

Anywho, the Joker is just a crook with a sense of humor. His character would be easy to replicate in Nolan\'s vision of Gotham.

Now Clayface, on the other hand..

Joker...best Batman villain ever.
Who is this anamoly we call Jumpman? How is he able to do what he does and still survive after years of torment? It seems he feeds on the hate, growing with an intense passion to put unassuming members in their place.

pfft you wouldn\'t be able to resist Robin either.

The best one is the strip where Joker and Batman repeatedly talk about giving eachother a boner.

Jason Todd was a Robin but no one liked him and so people phoned in to have him killed. He went to find his mother in the middle east, ran into the Joker, tried to solo him, and Joker beat him down with a crowbar and blew him up.

I used to think that the Joker was some pussy foot villain who was just insane but the guy is simply the best villain of all time (with Luthor imo). Beating Robin with a crowbar, paralyzing Gordan\'s daughter, he just does it to toy with Batman and for the fun of it. His master plot usually comes back to haunting Batman, not some silly plan take over the city plan. Bat fights for justice and to make Gotham a better place to live, Joker is his opposite in every conceivable way.

And yeah I hope they have a good explanation for bringing Todd back. Like a clone or something to haunt Batman because that mother fucker should of stayed dead.

Yeah, after Dick grew up and became Nightwing.. Jason Todd became Robin. Not too long after his first appearance (was it 6 years?) there was a poll of the readers..

Which character should die? Readers could choose, and they chose Jason Todd.

I heard that Bob Kane was really pissed off about the choice.

LIC:

Was this movie based on a specific issue of the comic book?

And if it was.....SPOILERS!!!!!!!

Did you know that Raz Gull(sp?) was gonna betray Batman?

Because I\'ve never read/heard about Raz Gul before and that twist was a huge surprise to me in the film!

I guess his motive was to create a superhero that can restore balance in Gotham City by whiping all the scum out.But when Bale refused to kill that guy(at Raz Gul hq) Raz knew that Bale wasn\'t the man for the job.

Then he tried to restore the balance himself with that nuclear weapon.

Like he said:whenever a society enters a state of decadence the balance must be restored.

How deeply is Raz Gul discussed in the comics?

Thanks.
