Well you didn\'t actually make any sense.

Anyway, the point was that Nintendo isn\'t wheezing as some would suggest. They\'re rolling in cash and I\'d hope that they only have room to pick up some momentum when it comes to next gen marketshare.

Thank God someone else notices that he pops in without making any sense.

I still want to know why Nintendo "can\'t put the effort"? Is there some huge reason Nintendo just CAN\'T do it? What is this reason? Please, tell u s.

Sony and Microsoft\'s game divisions do not have carte blanche with the resources of the company at large. I would venture to say that Nintendo\'s resources are very comparable to the resources of SCEA and Microsoft\'s gaming division. The big difference is that Nintendo has less wiggle room in that if worst comes to worst Sony and Microsoft can bail their gaming divisions out.

When it comes to capital/financial strength/market share etc. Nintendo is MORE than fine. They have been posting profits in the hundreds of millions for over a decade while Microsoft has been in the red with the Xbox, since launch, in an effort to improve their position with the Xbox 360.

Hey, crackhead.
They do have the capital and money to go head to head. They don\'t want to. Why? Because they have their niche market and it is profitable for them.

The problem isn\'t necessarily the amount of marketing, it\'s the way it does it.

Nintendo has gotten itself stuck with the uncool kiddy image and it has yet to get out. Third parties are a big way to do it. Seeing Nintendo logos all over the Dead To Rights ads or GTA ads or Metal Gear ads or Red Dead Revolver or anything without a Nintendo mascot makes it look cooler.

The best way to go is to get people to believe that Sony and Microsoft are inferior.

They should get the idea across that PS3 is same shit, different day. Xbox 2 is a knock-off of that same tired, boring formula. Uninspired sequels to old, boring games.

Nintendo is fresh, new, fun. Nintendo is fucking cool.

Getting that in people\'s minds along with more emphasis on 3rd party support will be the difference in taking over the marketshare.

They\'re trying to get around to that with "Nintendo Difference" but they need to slight the competition in their magazines a bit, on their websites, in their press releases.

The other guys do it, and it\'s worked so well that the media forgets about Nintendo. Nintendo needs to wave its middle finger at Sony and Microsoft and get back into people\'s minds.

i don\'t know i feel that nintendo feels that they are just fine where they are...in other words, they don\'t mind bein in the number 3 spot. they will let sony and microsoft spend billions tryin to have the all in one product, while nintendo will do what it always has been doin....focusing stricktly on games.....

nevermind that kiddie image, even tho i myself have criticized them for it..mario and other characters are a huge staple for them...so for them to change their image..even tho they have a few mature games on their system, ultimately people will still say "mario" when they think of nintendo...and so far this formula has been workin\' for them....
knowledge, wisdom & understanding..these are the basic fundamentals of life

if you can\'t amaze them with brilliance, baffle them with bullsh*t....

The formula is not broken, and I don\'t see them changing it.  Why should they?  They aren\'t trying to be the biggest corporation ever.  They make their games and they make a profit.  There is NO reason for them to change what they are doing.

More money. The only reason to change.

Having a niche market is great, they want to expand it now.

And don\'t kid yourself, they\'ve even said that games like Nintendogs and Elektroplankton are designed to interest new people that they don\'t already have.

True, Eik, the kiddy image does hurt them. At the same time, it is one thing that keeps them alive.  Much like Disney, Nintendo knows if they go to mature, they lose a certain audience. So why do it? They are already making huge profit on the handheld market and they make a decent profit on the console market, even if they aren\'t number one.

What you are talking about is expanding their market with a game like Nintendodogs. I agree, to an extend. Still, games like that won\'t help get rid of the "kiddy image", it just helps them get further in that niche\' market.

Then Nintendo are crackheads too for saying it
Its because they cant that they stay with their profitable "niche" market.Actually if I wanted to go deeper I would have described that niche market they are relying on.
